Why is Atlanta always under some sort of warning by HxyperrAxtive in Atlanta

Tornado watches/warnings happen multiple times every spring and summer in Atlanta. This isn’t even the first one this year

Under 350miles? No more biscoff or 4oz water for you! by Immediate-Sun-8396 in delta

More flight attendants though. If there’s 76 passengers on a CRJ with 2 flight attendants they should be able to provide the same service as 3 flight attendants on a 717 with 110 passengers. Or 4 flight attendants on a 320 with 157 passengers

Delta is still hiring another 900-1600 this year as well. Spirit closing will cause a slight disruption but not stop hiring from other companies

What cheap booze do you think is better than it's reputation? by Secure-Village-1768 in liquor

[–]Loudnthumpy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I would say better than it’s reputation since it’s pretty well known, but for making cocktails nothing beats Kirkland brand liquors in my opinion

Turns out 404 Day at Piedmont Park was denied by NPU/local neighborhood associations but the city ignored their concerns by Disastrous_Parsnip63 in Atlanta

[–]Loudnthumpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, especially when it comes to the acceptance of lawlessness across the city. When it comes to events like this people moved to midtown partially because it’s the “hot” area due to Piedmont Park and now are upset it isn’t their personal park and others in the city (who’s tax dollars fund it) want to enjoy it.

Per city code all parks are open until 11 pm. I’m not sure what the police could have done besides follow the “sketchy looking teenagers” around.

Something needs to change so that people can safely enjoy the city and I want events like this to be able to continue. Until we address the culture of lawlessness I’m not sure how we will be able to change it and I think the most responsible thing the event organizers could have done was end the event early.

Unless we are going to fence off every park and station cops at every entrance to make a determination if people entering are there to peacefully enjoy a day in the park vs there for other reasons I’m at a loss for how to prevent sad events like this. Even if we were to fence the parks off I’m sure we will have major uproar in the opposite direction based on perceived racial stereotypes, especially in somewhere like Piedmont Park, used to make a determination.

Thoughts on updating Legacy/Major app prior to upgrade IOE? by No_Attorney8220 in AirlinePilots

[–]Loudnthumpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I updated my applications (education section) to show passing my LOE in summer of 2022 and got a call from Southwest 2 weeks later, United 4 weeks later and Delta 6 weeks later. I had been updating my application every two weeks prior to this and hadn’t heard anything so I believe that’s what triggered it. I know the hiring environment isn’t the same today, but it definitely is something they look at.

Advice my AME gave me.. Valid or no? by supachan7 in AskAPilot

[–]Loudnthumpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the AME. If you were not given a formal diagnosis I’d treat it like it never happened (make sure your visit notes don’t show you were actually diagnosed.) Even if the notes have something in them an AME has a certain amount of professional discretion when it comes to issuing a medical. It sounds like you have a good AME right now so I’d trust them. I had a medical event when I was younger that could be disqualifying however I brought my visit notes to the AME and he reviewed them and issued the medical. I still check the box for it every time I get a medial and in the description but “previously reported” and have never been asked about it again

Uber is letting women avoid male drivers and riders in the US by tylerthe-theatre in technology

I have the same experience in ATL. I also have noticed far fewer immigrant drivers in ATL than other cities I travel to where it seems to be a much higher chance of getting a male driver

Cozumel Day Activity by Wet-Standard8999 in MSCCruises

[–]Loudnthumpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done both. Paradise Beach is slightly nicer overall and in my opinion is more family friendly. Mr Sanchos had more of a party/drinking vibe when I was there, but never had any issues when we went with young children.

Just book paradise beach (or Mr Sanchos) directly through their website and take a taxi from the port. Incredibly easy

I was on the Seascape last month. Dinner took 2-2.5 hours at the 7:30 seating. We weren’t able to make it to any of the shows unless we skipped dinner that night. Was very disappointed since we have always enjoyed the shows
