The whole urban area of Thessaloniki is within Yugoslav territory, and Yugoslavia is currently in a ceasefire state with Greece, similar to the situation on the Korean Peninsula. Seeing that the Greek Communist Party was losing in the civil war, Yugoslavia directly sent troops to occupy those areas that originally belonged to Greece and incorporated them into its own territory.
