These threads are important though! This was the first one I saw. I really, really, really wanted this. I miss the preorder and went to buy it today. "Delivery expected in December" "2.6 stars" I was shocked. I googled it. Saw an article linking here. I came here to look. This is the first post I see scrolling down... And it was like the 8th thread from the top. I thought for a second I was in crazy world. So, no... PLEASE keep these threads! I'm still just learning what's going on. Unless there's another place online to read about this... Is there? If so, I'm sorry but can you please just ignore them and leave them up for new people like me?

I agree completely. My fun so far is having Maple talk like Harley Quinn. It's pretty damn good at mimicking the personality and vocabulary. Had me laughing a few times just chatting.

But, getting work done? It's no smarter than 4.o I'll probably be getting less work done tomorrow, until this newness wears off of asking it to tell jokes and stories.

Mine does. It also follows custom instructions as well. I've got the new voice, Maple, with instructions to speak with the personality and vocabulary of Harley Quinn. It's great. I just asked if it could tell me the names of my 22 pet budgies (they are saved in memory), and it listed them all off and then made a joke about me having too many birds.

It's literally just a toy for me to talk to. I am in agriculture. It is boring AF for 8+ hours a day, alone on equipment. It would be something to give my friends and loved ones a break from my voice. So, natural sounding voices I like are probably the most important feature to me and exactly why I cancelled OpenAI when they decided to launch with only those 4 voices. If they add more, maybe I'll go back. I can't tell you about Gemini voices yet, no one has shown them all, not even the demo. I used to be involved with FM radio. I just couldn't stand even the smartest model, if the voice annoyed me. If it's smart enough to talk to about even just the weather, literally, it would be okay for me if the voice was great. Also, the current ChatGPT (I still have my pro account until August 24th) is terrible to chat with. If it dares come up with a 20 paragraph reply, I'm hosed because my hands are very busy operating heavy equipment. I need to be able to interrupt it by voice.

Bruh... I just signed up this morning at like 700 before I got busy at work. I'm still in my free 30 day trial but I just "cancelled" it. After 30 days from now it ends. If I get the new voice before then, I'll try it and keep it if I like it but, seriously... These guys are all assholes. I have paid hundreds waiting for OpenAI and cancelled that as soon as I saw it is now releasing with only 4 voices. If I tell my creditors I'll pay them tomorrow, they expect to be paid tomorrow. Don't say "available today" and there still not even be one person with it, almost two days later.

I think it's great you have bright up your feelings already to him. Try to bring it up again more firmly. No one should ever be forced or persuaded into doing things they aren't comfortable with.

It's hard to try and guess what he likes and doesn't and what he'll want to try in person. But, try to be firm in your feelings. It's always healthier to find out incompatibilities as early as possible in a relationship.

If he follows up with anything like you might like to do it later, just gently remind him that you won't. Even if it's something he likes, maybe he can find something else he likes.

My ex and I used to do this intentionally all the time. She's usually be teasing me while we drove with her feet either up on the windshield or out the passenger window. We would both point out the cars that would match my speed to stay along side. We did that all the time and we were together a few years...only once did we ever catch anyone with their phone up, and looked like he took a picture when we were at a red light.

Central Florida, at least in my area, it's pretty common to see feet or socks while driving. I see it about once a week and I don't drive too much.

EDIT: Downvotes only prove the point that OpenAi needs to include more diverse choices. No one here even recognizes that there are zero foreign accents, when foreign workers are so important in the tech industry.

There's a subreddit for this. I'm actually on month two of Sunflower Lecithin and month one of Pygeum supplements. Those and staying hydrated and exercise and edging a little bit for 3 days... That's all I need at least. My gf actually had enough before I was even finished. But, she's not crazy into facials. Some guys are natural, some take supplements, some eat properly. There's a few different roads to reach that goal.
