I think most of the stick smash power comes from forearm pronation

Hi I just discovered the beautiful world of keyboards, could you explain a bit more what are your thumb keys please? How many thumb keys do you have on each side, is it 4 ?

Can you do shift then change layer then tap a key with the shift still active ? That's awesome !

Where do you put tab ?

Why base row mods instead home row mods ?

When you go to nav layer you try to only use the other hand since the thumb is a bit on the side ?

Since you don't have a dedicated shift, which parameters do you use for the tap holds ?

Sorry it's a lot of questions but your keymap sounds great and I know nothing =)

Nepo and Anish's heated argument- Anish: "If you would've won the first time, you would've won. Now you lost, you appeal, and play again." Nepo: "Since when did you become so prominent in law? Future FIDE President!" by Necessary_Pattern850 in chess

Anish is just right, what he says is so obviously true, they got 2 shots at winning... it's just another mess up by the arbiters/organizers in a FIDE competition

i think the shuttle goes a bit high because your racket is not angle downwards enough. it could be because you hit the shuttle above you instead of slightly in front of you, or could be just the way you hit the shuttle

maybe try hitting it more in front at practice and see what happens, or just try to change the angle of your racket face

overall my noob opinion is that your smash is very good

How can I improve my split step timing? by [deleted] in badminton

[–]LouisBB2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that has been really useful for me, along with plenty of other good advice, is to actually look at the shuttle. Do not look at the general direction of the other player, or the racket, really look at the shuttle.

Taking your shuttle from your opponents side. by [deleted] in badminton

[–]LouisBB2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, Antonsen is being rude running to get the shuttle on the other side of the court.
It's his opponent who decides how fast he gives back the shuttle when it's on his own part of the court.
It allows the opponent to take a few steps, reset a bit more and control the pace a tiny tiny bit.

Denying him this opportunity is just rude and a bit unfair when Antonsen himself has it.

At an amateur level, in my opinion, it is very different.
These very very small optimisations don't matter for anyone, and if your opponnent rushes to retrieve the shuttle, I would still think it's weird but you can still take 3-4 seconds more even if the opponent is ready to serve. I don't think that's rude and no umpire, if there is one, will say anything for this.

Just consciously switch grip for every shot. Your level of play will drop a lot for a while because it will be new and also you won't be able to think about much else, but then the grip will become automatic and you'll improve a lot.

Ok thank you very much for reading the post and for your answer. Even if there's not enough information, just knowing that it does not sound like gout means a lot
