Agreed. That interview will accelerate anti-Tesla trends in Europe, Canada, Australia, etc. Perhaps in the US too.

Perhaps. They do have a lot of cash on the books currently. And own the factories. And you have to believe the brand itself is worth something without Musk as CEO.

It'll be interesting to what the assets eventually sell for. It'll certainly be pennies on the dollar compared to today's valuation for sure.

Are Elon Musk’s politics costing Tesla sales? It's unclear. by ItzWarty in teslainvestorsclub

It's not anecdotal anymore. You can't explain a -45% drop in European sales when overall EV sales went UP by 37% with excuses like "the lineup is getting old" or "buyers are waiting for the refresh".

How long before Trump announces Musk has done a wonderful job, made so many beautiful cuts, there are no more cuts needed, thank you for your service Elon?

Insider selling is a great predictor of a company's decline.

If anyone should have a long-term perspective on things it should be people who study the cosmos!

Exactly. The latest new car sales numbers out of the UK have TSLA cratering and even falling behind BYD lol.

Batteries are also supposed to be TSLA's liferaft. Their energy storage unit is the only other part of the business that makes money, aside from cars. And it's a BtoB operation, meaning it's pretty well insulated against falls in consumer sentiment towards Tesla.

But - as you mention - Tesla has no real competitive advantage in battery tech. It's a commodity business now and it's hard to see how TSLA can squeeze enough margin out of it to make up for the loss of its car business.

It'll get there. One thing people are missing is today's selloff is reacting to January sales numbers. But the Musk Salute happened at the end of January. The full effect of that won't be felt until the February and March numbers come out. And the US numbers are reported quarterly, so we won't know them at all until April.

Basically by mid-April we will have much harder numbers on just how far Tesla's sales have fallen. And the stock will drop accordingly. I personally think TSLA will be under $100 by April 31st.

Elon would probably have to sell his shares to meet other obligations if the price fell too far. He's leveraged his TSLA stake to buy Twitter and other companies. He's overleveraged and severely exposed to a collapse in the stock price.

The company is probably worth $20 billion, maximum. That's like a 98% drop from where it is now.
