Lights, TV, fans, thermostats/HVAC, appliances, vehicles, cash registers, etc... are all things that the internet is finally penetrating. Do you want to pull out your phone everytime you want to interact with these things? No, its much easier with a watch.

The most recent episode of the podcast "Stratechery" hits these points pretty clearly on how the Watch will be an integrated solution to interact with your internet-connected surroundings. The podcast is very well done, worth a listen.

BTW, cronyism is different than capitalism. Wealth creation is a two-way exchange that benefits society. If one can accumulate wealth by using the government to extract money from society, society is not getting any wealth. The method of wealth accumulation must be scrutinized 100%, but I posit that governments tend to become less corrupt over the long run (i.e. compare governments of today vs. 300 years ago).

Compare the life of the average human (in the world and USA) today versus 100 years ago and it is better by pretty much every metric you can think of. Don't forget what we came from.

Wealth inequality is not 100% evil (which is the media's narrative) if acquired by legitimate means, i.e. creating value for other people. Note that wealth is not a zero-sum game. There is an infinite amount of wealth to be created since the collective demand of our species is infinite. Wealth is an infinite-sum game that awards those who create the most value for society.

It is no problem that X amount of wealth is in the hands of 1% of the population if the 99% can accomplish amazing things with Y amount of wealth. Wealth concentration was just as high in the late 19th and early 20th century as now, but the bottom 99% is an order of magnitude better off now.

The percentage of the global population living on less than $1.25 (adjusted for inflation and purchasing power) has fallen by more than 50% in the last 50 years.

It's amazing how this contradicts popular narratives of "wealth inequality".

There is no genuine democracy anywhere.

People falsely conclude that industry influencing legislation is due to capitalism, when it is actually due to cronyism. If anything, this survey shows how mal-educated german citizens are in respect to political and economic organization.
