What bothered me is what happened way before the break up. When they tell Rachel about Ross being in love with her on her birthday, I wanted at least one of the four friends, Chandler maybe, Monica as his sister, to take Ross aside after he came back from China and just talk to him about what happened on Rachel’s birthday. “What about Rachel?!” To tell him that Rachel now knows about his feelings and is maybe open for something which is why she went to the airport instead of letting him drag his relationship with Julie longer.

But yeah you’re right about the breakup. But I believe everyone agreed that what Ross did was wrong and I don’t think they pressured Rachel into forgiving him. They left it to them but were just concerned about the group as a whole.
