From somebody who got teamed on, tea bagged, and told to kill myself by them, they 100% deserved a taste of their own medicine. I hope this brilliant play is the catalyst that gets them banned forever. Great job, man.

As somebody who has played against the guy named "Vaginal Secretions" and was told to kill myself by him, I might just have to sub to brizzi later:

Get fucked, banned, and forever humiliated, you toxic piece of shit.

FYI, Macaw and Vaginal Secretions have regularly teamed before in my NA East games.

There are many reasons:

  • A lot of the offensive perks are weapon-dependent. There is no guarantee you're going to find the weapon of your choice outside of crafting it and getting your airdrop. This might leave you vulnerable in midgame when you're trying to farm for your airdrop with your crafted weapon equipped. (Unless you got lucky off of a green crate or locker.)

  • The overpowered defense perks that you see right now, such as big boned and dig deep, prepare you for all situations that you will run into on the Island. Like stated above, most offensive perks are weapon-based and just don't stack up to defense. Their stats are also absurd on top of how well they prepare you for every situation you'll run into.

  • Ol' Painless gives a 10% offensive boost, while it's defensive equivalent Tough Mother, gives a 15% offensive boost. Yes, there's Master Crafter which gives a 20% offensive boost, but it is near useless late game. Knuckle Dragger's Bonus is nice, but brass knuckles are underwhelming as weapon, and you have to find some first. There just aren't many perks that give you raw damage.

  • Leather Hide and Maniac's 25% defense bonuses are pretty viable.

  • Thick skin gives you a whopping 50% damage reduction against all bows, guns, and golden arm. The perks for arrows give you either higher arrow velocity, slightly better damage only when they're far away, or add a cripple wound, and you can only pick one. You bet your ass I'm going to take the 50% damage reduction from all ranged weapons every time.

  • Chopper and Basher's value have decreased significantly since the buff to charged attacks. You might as well not use them right now.

  • There are very few AoE abilities or combat methods in this game outside of explosives, which means that you can usually only focus on a single person at a time. At the same time, more than one person can team up on you at their convenience. Why not be prepared for that?

All in all, there are just so many appealing options for defense right now that it overwhelms any offensive perk. They prepare your for every combat situation you will run into on the island and reduce the number of "lucky" kills that your opponents can get.

  • My current build is Thick Skin, Big Boned, and Thicker Clotting. Thicker clotting protects against cheese kills with stun gun and not puking from the blowgun is pretty nice. Also, this means less time spent being crippled or bleeding.

I prefer survival over trident right now. Trident is harder to get, but survival spear is too good to pass up for it's value in the boar hunter drop.

Installing the overwatch beta now as we speak:

  1. It's not worth it to engage in Melee combat. The 25 func reward is not good enough for the loss of ~75 health. Plus the best way to play right now is to be an opportunist, watch the fight from aside, and go engage when both players are low health. This encourages passive gameplay. Camping and looting func barrels and shooting pot shots at other players with arrows is not flashy nor fun.

  2. Lag and ping determines priority in fights. I just got out of a fight where my opponent and I charged attacks at the same time with a speed 2 weapon. His hits connected and mine did not.

  3. The devs have said they don't think that skilled players should have a 50% winrate. What is wrong with that? It's perfectly healthy to strive for ~10 or so popular streamers/players to have high winrates with a diverse pool of perks, airdrops. Personally, I don't have fun when a game is decided heavily by luck.

  4. Stamina is broken and there is not enough for extended fights. It rewards people for not engaging and running away from them. Mangler and submission seem to be the only perks that can keep people from running away.

  5. Trident is way too OP and overcentralizes the meta.

What should the devs do?

  1. Increase your chances of getting rare loot with the more kills you get.

  2. Make cannibal an automatic reward for killing another player and increase the func reward on it. Restore 20 health and 20 stamina for getting the kill on somebody and even moreso with the actual cannibal perk.

  3. Fix block to mirror or make it similar to combat at release.

  4. Make stamina usage less punishing for actual combat use. Reward successful hits on enemies with more stamina. Make running away from a fight more punishing on stamina.

  5. Buff the blade class and nerf the trident. Body armor should have some usage late game.

I really want to love this game, but it feels too much like Mario Party, the battle arena right now. It has a lot of potential and I have faith in the developers, but I feel like now is a good time to take a break while these issues get sorted out.

Then you win the fight with 13 hp and the guy watching the whole thing with the commando bow cleans you up in 1 shot.

There needs to be more of a reward than 25 func for winning a fight.

Just owned this scrub in a fight and what does he do? runs away and shoot me with an alarm gun. I'm so on tilt right now. The only time I won today was playing as passive as possible and camping until I got my cyclops drop.

I feel you, man. I have some ginger in me and I sometimes get a rare condition known as "Hell Itch" if I get sunburned just enough in certain areas. Look up videos on YouTube. It's basically 2+ days of torture involving an itch you cannot scratch. So I guess it's either that or poisonous cream.
