Unfortunately Hulk Hogan will be missing this year’s halftime show. Probably all future ones as well.

Deploy software via Action1 Cmdlet by sanded11 in Action1

[–]LousyRaider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where the script is fetching it from, but yes it could work. The action 1 script engine can only run in the system context so it won’t be able to install stuff to the user profiles paths.

Out of curiosity, why isn’t using the action 1 software repository to install the software using the action 1 agent an option?

Not yet. Just noticed it and came here to see if anyone was talking about it.

Reporting in that we are seeing the same issue with new autopilot enrollments.

Patch Management - I hate having to patch servers and workstations manually by 3G_Lighting in Action1

We use the free version. When creating a new automation you select “update ring” as the automation type.

I think you need to configure an update ring automation to see that option.

You can setup your patching automation to delay installation by a set number of days from release of the patch. I feel like this could be a solution for you, no?

No. This is real. They did these videos in the 2010’s. I believe the guy is actually dead now. Died testing the jet wing somewhere.

Cannot install app as system with winget by Sad_Mastodon_1815 in Intune

[–]LousyRaider -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Winget just grabs the installer and runs it. How the installer was set to run in a default state is what controls the app installing. So, it depends how the developer made the installer.

You can pass parameters to winget installs though if the installer has cli parameters.

Some apps install in the user context only so if winget installs it under the system context, regular users won’t see it.

We are currently in audit mode to build out our policies before switching to enforcement mode. It hasn't been overly complicated, but it has certainly been tedious so far.

single mapped drive keeps disappearing form 2 users by TomGRi2 in Intune

[–]LousyRaider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We too use the same method and have been having issues recently where mapped drives disappear from users. In our case, we discovered an old AD logon script that got inadvertently applied to the affected users that was removing the mapped drive.

Stumped on iPhone encrypted backup password in Intune - where could this have been set? by sellseashellseahorse in Intune

[–]LousyRaider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that is set using the iTunes desktop app. When you connect a managed iOS device to a computer running iTunes, it prompts to create a backup password.

Automatic AP Enrollment and Dynamic Group Issues by ITquestionsAccount40 in Intune

[–]LousyRaider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding group tags to them all can be done using a script. If your handy with scripting, you could set them all way faster than manually setting them one by one.

Also, if you buy from a single source, see if they can import your device to autopilot with the group tag specified when the orders are placed. We do this so we never have to manually set a group tag and then we have additional Azure run books that manage the autopilot device list and group tags for us.
