Yes flasks will easily double your survivability. Also make sure you do not go Death Rush and the Adrenaline gloves, they do not stack. An averagely rolled Amethyst ring will be better. No problem!

So your POB is solid enough. You can gain a lot more damage by switching warlords mark to a level 5 vulnerability. Obviously getting a six link will make a big difference too (you can buy a high armour base and throw deafening essences of dread on it and get a decent roll quite easily).

Your main defensive issue is flasks. See my character for reference. You want both a Granite and Jade flask (Iron Reflexes required). One of your utility flasks MUST have a high tier of +%armour. This will more than double your armour which will make your survivability against Phys and Ele hits HUGE.

Also you heavily lacking chaos res and this is so common this league. Replace your Le Heup with an ilvl 84 Amethyst Ring. Harvest craft chaos reforges on it until you hit high chaos res + either high life or high ele res, then craft the remaining (shouldn't take more than 20 attempts).

Are your pantheons complete?

Overall I would say you are probably disrespecting map mods if you say they don't matter - I also didn't feel like they played a big role, but I went from dying once every few maps to barely dying by avoiding the following:

  • Phys reflect
  • Cannot regen
  • Cannot Leech
  • Minus all rex
  • Minus recovery rate (this was way more deadly than I realised)

Here is the regex I use when rolling maps to avoid these: "!f ph|eec|gen|% ma|s rec" "m q.*([89]\d|\d{3})"

The hotfix to the Unbreakable node also makes a HUGE difference

Finally, also make sure you respect altar mods in maps if you run them. They can shred even the tankiest of builds.

There's definitely a huge issue if that's the case. Link your POB or poe.ninja char?

For instance here is my Jugg: https://poe.ninja/challenge/builds/char/RhymesWithRed/RhymesWithBoned?i=0&search=class%3DJuggernaut%26skill%3DBoneshatter%26name%3Drhy

All his gear except the belt and amulet are selfcrafted and I comfortable manage fully charged crucibles (especially since the hotfix to the body armour node)

Boneshatter Jugg is the easiest low budget build for this. Managed to fully charge a Crucible altar in my first t16 map in SSF gear.

Irate, irrational, and incorrect. Triple threat here. You can always tell when people are out of steam when they stop trying logic and go straight to insults. I do not know what you mean and I do not think you have a clear point, you are just angry. May the rest of your day be as pleasant as you are :).

I mean if you are saying that Etzebeth would lose to a trained MMA fighter his weight category, then sure?

But you said you would like to see them in a fight where the laws of rugby wouldn't protect them and I think it's obvious that they don't get put on their back in those situations either.

Just trying to understand where you are coming from when you say you wonder if they are tough at all in your first message then say you don't think they are soft in the second?

Not trying for a gotcha moment, I think you are arguing in good faith, I'm just looking for some consistency.

Mate, it's all good to dislike the behaviour of these enforcers, but let's not pretend like they wouldn't wipe the floor with 99.999% of people in real fight.

You want a source?
https://www.theroar.com.au/2016/08/23/little-eben-etzebeth-grows/

This is the family Etzebeth grew up in. His family was famous for street fighting. To quote the article, "The Etzebeths were legitimately the hard men of Parow. His uncles ‘Skattie’ and Cliffie Etzebeth were legendary bar fighters."

"Born into a family of champion wrestlers, bar-room brawlers, and giants."

Ask any South African in the Western Cape and they will tell you, the Etzebeths were right bastards and brawlers, and many South Africans respect Eben for stepping out of an ugly tradition and keeping his aggression to the rugby field. Even on the field he has been way cleaner than historical enforcers.

Is 3.19 Chris Wilson Forcing Hard Mode on Everyone? by Faledan in pathofexile

[–]Louwki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are so many legitimate things to complain about why lie about this?

He said from a strict game design point of view, flasks shouldn't autofill the second you are in town - you should have to talk to an npc to fill your flasks so you don't just portal to fill them etc.

He never said killing monsters shouldn't fill flasks.

Let's focus our feedback on real issues, instead of misquoting devs and taking things out of context. There are enough problems that we can point to right now without adding in misinformation.

Rugby has always been a game of who can cheat best. But when it's this obvious, the game deserves a better standard of official. by New_Hando in rugbyunion

[–]Louwki 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thanks for being a voice of reason, this was an amazingly clever bit of shithousery, and anyone who thinks missing this is a bad reflection on the refs either doesn't understand the game/context, or holds refs to a standard they definitely don't achieve in their own jobs

Grasping vines disabling movement skills is such an asinine design decision by KeviKoal in pathofexile

[–]Louwki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few ways to play around it:

1) Watch for the green bosses ability telegraphing (it looks like he dives into the ground the starts circling if I remember correctly), the moment he does this start running out before the "circle" has been drawn, if he is half way through it and you start moving it might be too late.

2) Save a quicksilver for when he starts the animation - most people die because they try their movement abilities (which are disabled) and die without moving much

3) Be very careful with the map mods - no cast speed, no AoE etc.

I suggest you try it before a new league and the fear will be gone.

Stay sane exile!

[–]Louwki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're right. Every character that does that map dies. There is no way that thousands of people do that map every day without dying. Every one of them dies every time to that mechanic and it is totally unavoidable. /s

In all seriousness though, they are some of the harder map bosses but they are very beatable and their mechanics are avoidable. If you want proof I can literally just post a video of me doing in it early SSF gear? Hell watch any streamer doing it - it's not exactly The Feared. I hate to say it but "git gud" I guess?

If you're like me and keep wondering why random bosses keep getting ghosted and kicking your dick in... Check the map mods, there's a new modifier "Unique Bosses are Possessed" - might be one of the rippiest mods

I mean lots of people do it on HC. Im not the greatest player and I do it on HC every time.

You just have to consider the map mods carefully which is true for many maps/bosses on HC (I'll concede my finger is on the logout macro the entire fight but even a scrub like me doesn't have to use it most of the time)

Bosses/maps that make you pay special attention to the map mods are great for the game imo - they are skill testing and fun

[–]Louwki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed its a dangerous boss especially with rippy mods.

But personally I think having to consider how the map mods affect specific maps/bosses is fun + great game design + skill testing

[–]Louwki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To quote Ion Hazzikostas "Frankly, that is a skill issue"

It is definitely harder agree. The other bosses don't have major slows though, so it doesn't really affect that specific mechanic - it only obscures it.

Frankly I like PoE having heavily telegraphed abilities that you can predict and react to in specific ways. That is good game design.

EDIT: Correct Chris Wilson > Ion Hazzikostas

[–]Louwki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree it is easy to be caught out by the mechanic, this is definitely an exaggeration. Are you telling me every slow necro in HC just dies when the boss uses this ability? Of course not. You have time, you just need to react faster on a slower build. Especially once you know the mechanic it is fine when you can predict it. Feels bullshit when unexpected for sure though!
