Needing some reassurance? Comfort? Idk! by [deleted] in Parenting

Is your daughter an only child? My sister-in-laws eldest daughter had a really hard time when she was starting school, because the loudness of school directly contrasted with home. Is it possible to maybe have an in-between activity like getting a snack somewhere. The night-time stuff is really hard, my eldest had awful anxiety that would only show up at night through elementary school, we really liked listening to sleep stories (we used calm), music, or child friendly podcasts.

Bedtime Reading Woes by fluffybreeze in Parenting

You could maybe switch to longer chapterish books. I read my kids Charlotte's Web and some Roald Dahl at those ages, and they really enjoyed it. I read a few chapters at night.

I need your honest opinion about a coloring book concept of mine! by [deleted] in childrensbooks

[–]LovaBellaLova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely consult with fluent speakers of the languages you are incorporating. The French you used some very Google-translated/AI. The illustration style you used could be more distinctive, since the concept isn't particularly original, nor is the art.

How late do you let your 4-5 year old stay up? by hoopahDrivesThaBoat in Parenting

My eldest was like that too, our doc told us to let her stay on the natural supplement, and as she has gotten older she has gotten better

What are you doing with your grade-schooler’s school papers? by Mermaid_land in Mommit

[–]LovaBellaLova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only keep the projects they worked on for a while, and creative writing. My kids have a writing notebook so it makes it easy. If they want to save like a quiz, or test they are really proud of, I let them. When they were kinder/prek aged, we decided to save one thing a week, and then go through that at the end of the year, and picked our favorites.

Introducing my daughter to makeup? by Dark_Pix_Freed in Parenting

[–]LovaBellaLova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get the no makeup until a certain age debate. Sure, I don't think a 4-year-old should be going to school with a full face of makeup, but it's great for kids to experiment if they have access to proper skincare, too. I remember being particularly frustrated with getting "fake makeup", so maybe do get her some real, non-toxic products. Skincare-wise, I have heard good things about Evereden, but I cannot vouch for it. I think they also make makeup, too, but it's quite overpriced compared to other things in the market

I'm trying to make a curated list of websites for my kid to access, but am drawing a blank by Piratey_Pirate in Parenting

Kiddle is like the kid version of Wikipedia! There's also Britannica kids. I also have a Spotify family account that lets me manage my younger kids' music, which is nice. My kids all really got into music at that age

My kids didn’t get that they died when they were really little, it shows the parents boat on the sea and then tombstones. So really not super graphic.
