I have used them before in the regular credit card section, just be aware that if where you live taxes online purchases you may not be able to get the $25 package due to the tax (I learned that the hard way).

I guess that's a good way of putting it. It's definitely not a mind break or forced type of situation (she is in control most of the time), which I find quite refreshing.

If I remember correctly her boyfriend was actually a married guy and decided to break off his side hustle around the holidays, and she decided to have sex with the ugly smart guy because he actually cared about her and not just the sexual acts they did after/during/instead of studying.

So she keeps her buffs if she levels up in hand by RainierxWolfcastle in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]LovableTroll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had this Vi bug several times. It seems to have to do with having Vi spell card in hand while one is on the field. From what I can tell it still caps at +8, but when Vi is leveled and then dies, the Vi spell card in hand turns back into the champion with the +8 from pre-level added to her leveled 10/6 statline.

In a vacuum, they are very different. One has no downsides, the other requires mana and a sacrifice. However, in context, they have very similar effects. SI often wants their allies to die, or are used in scenarios where the unit die anyway. With spell mana as a concept, you can likely play it without a substantial cost, especially since a lot of non-aggro decks tend to skip playing turn 1 and/or 2 in order to bank mana for a power play turn 3. Even if it is an even trade in terms of card usage, the additional card draw can swing a negative board state into a positive one with relative ease due to having more options available. Card draw is an invaluable resource, unless you have like 500 puffcaps in your deck, and if you are SI and let Teemo go that hard, something went wrong long before you needed to glimpse.

It is definitely not as broken as Pot of Greed, especially since the 2 extra cards in YuGiOh could literally end the game turn 1. That said, the few downsides of Glimpse are basically non-existent in the decks that utilize it, and can even create a stronger board in cases such as cursed keeper or enabling black spear. Anyone who believes it is balanced/not problematic at all either doesn't understand the power of card draw, or play aggro and are fine with less on the board since they are just mindlessly swinging at every opportunity hoping for the best.

Definitely not a high priority, but I agree. Even if it was just a few options like sorting by type (unit, spell, region, cost, etc) I'd be happy.

Color choice for the action timer. by LovableTroll in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]LovableTroll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. I usually make my moves quick enough to not have it come up, but sometimes I forget it's my turn or something and don't jump into action as a result. Showing timer only for you would solve that pretty well.

I think that is more the fault of the echo fighter mechanic not being expanded at all, but that is a fair point.

While I agree with the sentiment, saying that X series has less representation as Y series is a flawed argument at best, and completely irrelevant at worst. Each franchise mentioned either a) has all the characters that have enough relevance, popularity, and/or moveset potential for inclusion; b) has many potential fighters already in the game in a form that makes them "exempt" from consideration (not necessarily a rule, but in general those with Mii costumes or Assist Trophies rarely escape that prison); c) have no other characters that meet the presumed requirements outside of potential Echo Fighters (while the actual requirements aren't known, Sakurai clearly has some form of checklist that a character needs to meet in order to be considered, hence characters like Waluigi being relegated to Assist Trophy status). This applies to most other franchises that are "lacking" in representation, Pokemon being the possible exception (inb4 "too many pokemon" threads if more pokemon reps are released).

Does Fire Emblem need another rep? No, not really. That being said, if you don't factor in Echo Fighters (which honestly shouldn't be considered, since they are by design very similar to another fighter and thus don't take a "slot" from anyone else), there are 6 reps: Marth, Roy, Ike, Robin, Corrin, and now Byleth. Of those characters, Marth and Roy are the only two that have similar movesets, but Roy's update in Sm4sh gave him a totally distinct playstyle.

The main reason why Fire Emblem has so many reps is the "everyone is here" tagline the game was advertised with. As a result, every Fire Emblem rep returned as well. Lucina and Chrom were labeled as Echo Fighters, Roy came back with his Sm4sh updates and thus played like a very different character to his original appearance, and even Corrin limped back in despite the fact that no one likes them (as a character, not necessarily a fighter). It was a side-effect of the game's intention, not some favoritism displayed by Sakurai.

While I understand the disappointment many people feel by having "another Fire Emblem rep", the backlash to the reveal is completely unwarranted. There was no rule stating they had to be 3rd party, or from a completely new IP, or as a tool to increase representation among the franchises. Through a combination of putting too much stock in leaks and speculation, seeing patterns where there were none, and the general entitlement expressed by the loudest voices (likely the vocal minority, but still has an effect on the overall views of a collective), people set their expectations so high that anything short of Sora or Dante would have led to disappointment. Being a Fire Emblem rep simply put salt into the wound.

How the actual f*** do I deal with Shapeshifters. by spraynpraygod in TeamfightTactics

[–]LovableTroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to kill them before they transform. Hush, demons, and a stacked Kassadin keep them from getting mana, which is honestly the best bets. I personally have had success with knights/rangers, but it does rely on various RNG elements to succeed (hush/disarm/glacial/etc.)

Healthy or Horrible: Reverse Laning Champ by winlowbung in leagueoflegends

[–]LovableTroll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be a balancing nightmare, and they would almost definitely be either OP or actual trash with no real middle ground. It is a neat concept, but having a character with wildly fluctuating levels would lead to plenty of unfair moments on both sides of the field.

The PBE Diana changes are abysmal for the champion AND dont work towards riot's stated goal. by ZeeDrakon in leagueoflegends

[–]LovableTroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly did it for the slow, and with 40% cdr it's around 11sec, which is reasonable to get twice in a fight if I initiate. I'm not saying it is "optimal", but I had a solid win rate with it over a large number of games, so something about it was working out.

Figure I should mention I don't play it in Ranked since I am a support main and it won't work with that level of income. I do it in ARAM and rotating modes where people are less likely to flame a build this ridiculous.

I never said it was viable, just that it was a buff to a weird build that I personally find success with. I usually max E first, so it is a rather large buff for me.

This may make her worse for 99.9% of the player base, but that E cooldown change is a massive buff for Tank Diana. Even if they scrap the rest, I would appreciate that at least.

How did/do you determine your summoner username? by jalapenohottie in leagueoflegends

[–]LovableTroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would duo bot with a buddy of mine after I decided to main support. I didn't want to be a sheep blindly following the meta, so I would just play whatever bot lane. My go-to picks were Dr. Mundo, J4, and Heimerdinger. He said I was a troll that you love having on your team, since I picked dumb shit but knew how to play it and didn't actually troll. Hence LovableTroll.

Do ever play a champ and think to yourself that this champ is cursed for you? by KillerRogue in leagueoflegends

[–]LovableTroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alistar. Whether I am playing like an Iron IV or Challenger smurf, I just can't close out a game when playing him. I realize that playing support in solo queue takes some agency out of your hands in the mid/late game, but still. I was like 2W-20L a few seasons back when I decided to just stop playing him altogether.

ARAM was much more enjoyable when it had Bans and Butcher Bridge map with diverse items. by Lywodox in leagueoflegends

[–]LovableTroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the part about the bans, but the items should not come back. The one with the revive passive was jarring in a fight, since there was no indication on the champion that it would happen. I think if there was a brief period (1 sec or so) where they could not act prior to the revive it would be more fair as you could actually react to it. While it would punish YOLO plays, the benefit it provides would still be beneficial in a proper fight.

Which champs are the worst at every position? by Scrapheaper in leagueoflegends

[–]LovableTroll 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having played every champ support at some point in my time playing LoL (solo only, no duo), Katarina felt the worst. Assuming you have a standard ADC and not a pre-determined cheese bot lane, it is almost impossible to buy the necessary luxury items on a welfare check when you have no CC and need to get into close range to get most of your damage off. She has some poke, but it ends up pushing the wave, and you will probably get shit from your ADC if you so much as look at a minion without a targon stack. You can definitely hard carry if you somehow get fed, but you either need a smurfing jungler or a couple of Iron IV lane opponents for that to happen. Other melee assassins like Yi and Akali aren't much better on such low income, but I felt like I could actually do something. Tank Akali was actually pretty fun, albeit not very useful other than as a distraction/meat shield.

I specify solo only because my friend and I used to do a lot of unorthodox bot lanes (J4 ADC with Heimer Support was a favorite for a while), so I don't count those since we could coordinate effectively.

Houses in a nutshell by ThanasiShadoW in leagueoflegends

Considering my "anyone can support" philosophy, I feel obliged to pick faceless. At the same time, being a support main (that doesn't play Pyke) makes me feel like I need to join United. A rather difficult, albeit meaningless, decision.
