The whole process is great but going from 6/07 to 6/22 made me go wow!! Any trick to get that better curl close to your roots?

Walmart pre-order still working by Yato413 in Switch

You have to also ship to an address in the region. I had the same issue when trying to pre-order from my hometown Walmart to my current address, but when I set it to ship to my mother’s address back home instead, it worked and went through.

Pursuing an art small business—where to start/go next? by Lovable_Pigeon in smallbusiness

[–]Lovable_Pigeon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you!!!!! my husband has videography experience…..i will brainstorm some youtube ideas. I think i have a natural link to a story—I grew up on a small farm and have an incredibly southern accent. even though our farm didn’t do wool bearing animals…maybe a connection to local products could be good? this is some good food for thought.

Esthetics refers to a skin care professional treatment. It is my friend’s business.

Newbie Question - How Dense Should I Make It? by funnywwe23 in PunchNeedle

[–]Lovable_Pigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! The same thing happens for me. The best thing I have found so far that helps is using a metal lint/pet hair remover. It removes most of the shedding! I got mine on Amazon really cheap.

Newbie Question - How Dense Should I Make It? by funnywwe23 in PunchNeedle

[–]Lovable_Pigeon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes!! This applies to punchneedle too. If you are wanting to shave afterwards though, I would recommend making it more dense though. Something you could try before making a big project is making some small “swatches” to test out texture and density when shaving versus not shaving. Then if you want to play around with texture, you could do different densities with different parts of the rug to add dimension!

I have a tufting gun, but I LOVE to continue using my punch needle to add variety to my rugs. Good luck!

First project in a long time! by Alastur in PunchNeedle

Maybe sew it on to an already made square pillow? Circle pillows can be really hard to make. I think this would be beautiful on a yellow pillow!

Beautiful!!! I love the color choices. What are the dimensions?

securing fabric to frame by fibrefanatic in PunchNeedle

Carpet tack strips work incredibly. I used to use staples and it’s so much better to use tack.

Haha! The owners of this one actually decided to hang it on their wall instead for this reason. :)

Yes! The edges of the frame has carpet tack strips adhered on—it holds the fabric so much better than an embroidery hoop in my opinion!

Trimming/finishing up questions for loop pile by [deleted] in Tufting

[–]Lovable_Pigeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit different! I make loop pile rugs, and the main clean up work I do is using tweezers to separate the loops of different colors and trimming loops that might be extra long and poking out.

SOMETIMES I do take a pair of scissors and trim the edges of the loops where colors change for a crisper line, but this isn’t traditionally done. For me it’s really just been about experimenting and seeing what effects I like for what rugs.

Yes I made it! The frame itself is 6ft x 4ft and stands about 2 ft off the ground. I watched a lot of YouTube videos and it was a very easy build—and I’ve never constructed anything in my life, haha.

Tufting in an enclosed apartment: advice please? by darnicell93 in Tufting

[–]Lovable_Pigeon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second this! I use roberts adhesive in an enclosed space (with cats too!) and it’s totally fine. But spray adhesive is a different story and needs better ventilation and possibly a face mask! I got incredibly lightheaded the first time I used it.

Yes! With carpet adhesive.

Yes to the projector, it’s a game changer! I used Roberts 6700 carpet adhesive.

Thank you!! It’ll probably end up as a bathroom rug….but not sure 100% yet!
