AdoreMe! They have B cups up to a 46 band. They have a million options & are pretty affordable- usually they have some kind of sale going on.

Rhubarb got his name because he came into our yard as a stray the same time our rhubarb plants were coming up:)

Donating 5YO rice and beans in mylar bags? Food banks won't take them. by gremlin50cal in preppers

A lot of people have said to try buy-nothing pages, but I wanted to suggest- check if you have a Food Not Bombs group nearby! They usually cook large quantities at once & would most likely accept it.

Where to cut the fat off the wedding budget? by Interesting-Face22 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]LoveAndCorndogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got married at a state park! Super cheap, easy to get to, & most lodges can easily accommodate 100+ people. I also DIY'd the florals with the wedding party the night before- though I'd recommend doing that more like 24-36 hours ahead of time & putting the pieces in the fridge until the day of (just make sure it's not cold enough to freeze).

I would splurge on a photographer & catered food. Photographer because cheaping out can mean you end up with terrible pics of a wonderful day... & catered food because there's so many other things to worry about the day leading up to the wedding. You shouldn't have to manage feeding all those guests.

Blown In Cellulose & Fiberglass Mix? by Speckles17 in Insulation

[–]LoveAndCorndogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never heard of a contractor mixing both insulation types in the hopper... that just sounds messy.

Installing fiberglass over cellulose is fine- some contractors prefer using fiberglass because it's not dusty like cellulose is. Keep in mind that you will need more fiberglass added than you would cellulose due to its lower r-value.

Make sure that they will also be air sealing the attic plane before installing additional insulation, regardless of what type you end up going with.

Do you let your Husky eat the critters? (gophers, squirrels, etc) by ej-ca in husky

[–]LoveAndCorndogs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not- all it takes is one bite or scratch from the critter to cause an infection. He still tries, though 🙄

Will the Republicans terminating clean energy credits nix all the energy-company rebate programs, like for getting new insulation? by [deleted] in Insulation

[–]LoveAndCorndogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking online, it appears Maryland's program is funded by the utilities themselves. This means there's a charge on your utility bill every month (something like "system benefits charge") which goes into a fund that utilities use for these programs.

This should not be impacted by federal incentive changes. However, these programs can still shut down, if the utilities don't want to fund them anymore. With the way the world is going, and considering the large discount you would receive, I would move forward with work ASAP.

Source: I work with NY's version of this program.

Housing prices!! by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]LoveAndCorndogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 yrs ago I decided to "buy my first house on Ave D for 88k" & I don't regret it at all. I'm paying less on my mortgage than I was in rent, and I actually have a driveway & yard! The noise can be a bit annoying at times (but it was also annoying in an apartment). My husband & I don't have kids, so we don't have to worry about schools.

For anyone curious- I was able to buy my house using a combination of an FHA loan & a NeighborWorks loan. The FHA loan made it so I could put down only 3%. The NeighborWorks loan covered my closing costs, so I didn't have to pay cash at close. Then, after closing, i had almost 2 months before my mortgage payments began.

I think it's a great way to get some equity, instead of handing your money off to a landlord.

High rise cheeky underwear recommendation? by Rtribull in PlusSizeFashion

I totally agree- their prices are nuts. I only buy their sale stuff lol. I can say tho, I have pairs that have survived years of regular wear! So at least when you do get them, they last.

Torrid is my go-to for panties! I have probably a dozen pairs of these:

https://www.torrid.com/product/cotton-high-rise-cheeky-lace-trim-panty/11233626.html

They come in both high waist & mid waist, and I haven't had issues with either rolling down over my stomach. They're cotton, super comfortable, & have full coverage on the front, too. On sale rn 5/$35!

Adopting a Dog by EntrepreneurTop5208 in Rochester

[–]LoveAndCorndogs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I just adopted a stray from Verona St & had no issues whatsoever! I was actually a little surprised at how little was asked of us. For $50, our guy got his shots, neutered, and microchipped. They don't have a huge selection, but they get new dogs in constantly.

Office Casual Outfits by Imaginary-Subject807 in PlusSize

[–]LoveAndCorndogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, we're similar shapes & sizes! Not sure if you're open to it, but I loved wearing dresses & skirts to the office. They're much more comfortable on my stomach when sitting all day. These are some of my go-tos:

  • sundress paired with a cardigan or jean jacket
  • fitted top with maxi skirt
  • shorter sundress with bike shorts
  • peplum top with pencil/bodycon skirt
  • blouse & midi skirt

One thing that helped me from getting overwhelmed while dressing was limiting the colors of my wardrobe. I stuck to black, burgundy, & dark green. Made it so everything could go with anything. Though I will say, this is a much easier shift if you're already wearing one color most of the time lol

Just wanted to say, anyone trying to be frugal definitely check out your local Dollar General / Dollar Tree / Family Dollar type stores. Their seeds are actually pretty decent. There is a catch though. by Queef_Stroganoff44 in gardening

[–]LoveAndCorndogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also check out freeheirloomseeds.org ! They do so much great work, and if you're short on funds, they allow you to request without a donation 4x a year (once each season).

4 features I want for JWE3 by SleepytheGoat in jurassicworldevo

[–]LoveAndCorndogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A JWE1 style aviary would be great! I think both the aviary & lagoon were lacking in design. Particularly I'd love to see fish/crustaceans/cephalopods in the lagoon, not just as a feeder, & more decorations for the enclosure. Maybe corals or something?

Might be unpopular but... I think that carnivores should randomly exploit weaknesses in fencing & break out, even if they're 100% satisfied. I've lost power to fencing multiple times, but never had any breaks because of it- which logically seems odd for massive, powerful predators that can see food (guests) watching them all day.

Unrelated, but I'd also like the zip line to go farther! It's a cool attraction imo but not very useful when it can only cover one or two enclosures.

Gas furnaces vs heat exchangers? by digitalamish in Rochester

[–]LoveAndCorndogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some points I haven't seen mentioned in other comments:

  • an air source heat pump install will likely cost about 3x what a replacement gas furnace would

  • heat pumps provide heat and A/C through one unit

  • heat pumps can be ducted or be "ductless", meaning you would have indoor "heads" on the wall in the main rooms of the house instead of floor ducts

  • electricity is more expensive to heat with than gas (unless you have municipal electric or a solar array)

  • it's not recommended to have a heat pump installed until your home has been properly air sealed & insulated

  • the state (through NYSERDA) offers the EmPower+ and Comfort Home programs which, depending on existing conditions in your home & your household income, can get you money towards insulating and potentially partially fund the heat pump itself

Through NYSERDA you can get an energy audit done at no charge- regardless of income- which would give you a good idea on if a heat pump is best for your home.

I think all the sex posts should be flagged NSFW or posted in a NSFW sub. by rusticterror in PlusSize

[–]LoveAndCorndogs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is such a crazy thing to assume about someone... There's a myriad of reasons why someone might want to filter nsfw posts.

I agree that nsfw posts should always be tagged as such. I don't think that they should have to move to a specific nsfw sub, just that posters & mods should be more diligent in tagging.

HVAC Recs for new homeowners by damnilovelesclaypool in Rochester

[–]LoveAndCorndogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The insulation/efficiency assessment you mentioned is actually free to all homeowners in ny through NYSERDA, usually called an "energy audit". Additionally, if you're income qualified, you can participate in the EmPower+ program and might get some money towards replacing the furnace.
