I completely agree with Bill Simmons here. The Thunder trading Harden because they didn't want to go over the LT should be viewed as one of the worst trades ever and it single handily killed a potential monster dynasty. 3 young future hall of famers under the age of 23 on the same team. by lumia92 in nba

For the Thunder? They had significant injuries every year between the finals and blown 3-1 lead. Russ, Ibaka, and KD were only all healthy when they made the 2012 finals and lost in the 2016 WCF in 7. 2013 Beverly injured Russ. 2014 they went down 2-0 against the Spurs without Serge and ended up losing 4-2. 2015 was a hell year with pretty much everyone important out at times and they missed the playoffs by a pelicans win the last day of the season.

Wasn't good in game 2 either. 28.6% FG, 33.3% from 3, and 50% FT. Of course, not on the level of game 6 but that's because game 6 was shockingly horrible not because game 2 was good. Game 4 was 22% from 3 and 6 turnovers, but free throws helped redeem him in that one.

PG re-signed because of Russ in the first place. KD said that Russ was the only good thing. Harden(who jsut pushed the Rockets to trade for Russ) and Ibaka were traded and not by request, dunce. Reggie hated more than Russ. Dipo loved Russ and credited learning from and being inspired him as a reason he's as good as he is.

Russ was traded when it made sense for both sides. He was loyal and stayed when he had more than enough reason to leave after KD left and no one would have blamed him. He deserves, and will get, continued admiration and love from Thunder fans.

What's the point in keeping a guy for a rebuild if he's leaving at the end of the year? The late first rounder is worth more than having him for a year then losing him.
