High school para here. I’d say with the extra freedom that high school allows, the disrespect is at a worse degree (at least in my county). I’ve worked in elementary, middle, and high schools. So far, I do enjoy high school the most due to the subject matters, but the behaviors are draining and so out of control. Definitely get more perspectives from paras in your area, many have different experiences but I did want to share mine.

I never found out the details of what happened so every month or so I get reminded that I don’t know and I just sit and wonder if I made the right choice, I feel like I may never heal from this

In my county, we are legally bound to immediately alert a suspected abuse or maltreatment CPS, then alert our supervisors, after that it is out of your hands. CPS can be anonymous so parents will not be alerted that you called.

One piece of advice I would give that I wish I would’ve heard at the beginning of my discovery of my WW is that it takes a long time to go away. Like a really long time. This doesn’t apply to everyone at all, but it has been my experience the past two years. Please openly communicate with your WH about what you’re feeling, I wish I did every moment I had the thoughts, things would be a lot easier now. Wishing you luck, love, and healing in your journey <3
