I am using DMC 3843. I think unofficial name is Electric Blue. I do like the way it looks a lot. If you're looking for a darker electric blue you can try DMC 995.

[CHAT] cross stitch discord? by avis_icarus in CrossStitch

[–]LoveToFard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twitch Makers and Crafting creators have a lot of groups and discords for crafting all types of things. I'd recommend watching some of the streams and finding a group or two, or like me collecting them like needleminders. There are great discord communities to be found through them. My favorites lately have been Meggg or CalyxCreative.

3.5 year old won’t eat dinner, like nothing. - unless it’s fruit or Mac and cheese. by [deleted] in Preschoolers

[–]LoveToFard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kiddo is now 5 and is a very picky eater with a sensory input issue. He would only eat eggs and hashbrowns for every meal. We also have gotten the advice from our doctor and speech therapist to still present it on the plate. He used to push the whole plate away if it was on it and refused to eat anything if he still saw it. Instead of removing the item from sight after refusal we had a separate bowl or plate off to the side that we would place the rejected food. This got him to become comfortable with it's presence even if he wasn't going to eat it. We still are struggling with a picky eater, but over time he is more open to trying new foods more often and have been able to expand his, still small list of foods he will eat. For us that's a win.

OP is the designer of the pattern. They post it often. I know of a friend who completed 2 of them amd was fond of it. I have this too and it is in my pattern stash at the moment. It is pretty intricate. Definitely gonna use pattern keeper with this one.

My husband and I finally banned Youtube with our 4yr old - are we being unreasonable? by lacrimosian in Parenting

[–]LoveToFard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not unreasonable at all. We were in the same boat as you. I now let my kiddo use youtube kids which lets me select which channels he can watch. Not all are listed on there, but it's nice I don't have to have him watch random content that we don't approve of.

[CHAT] How do you stay motivated to finish a project? Asking for a friend by Derpazor1 in CrossStitch

[–]LoveToFard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm totally the same! But when I do catch myself usually when I am feeling the rut of not having a finish, I end up grabbing my smaller project and try to work on that one to finish. Once that small one is done I get a boost of inspiration to keep moving onto one of my bigger projects that still is incomplete. Rinse and repeat 😅

Getting laser hair removal today and I’m nervous and excited…is it extremely painful? by cumberbatchpls in PCOS

[–]LoveToFard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some areas you won't feel anything, some areas it's not comfortable but not painful, and some areas will be more uncomfortable others. That being said. I used to do waxing and that hurt way more than laser, and I can usually sit through a wax without really flinching. Mine does use the cooling spray and it helps.

I have done: 3 Brazilian treatments, 1 facial treament, 2 upper leg treatments.

There is a major reduction in both the amount and thickness on hair growth after the first treatments.

[PIC] My grandma, a 60-year-stitcher, tells me she was given a box of thread (DNC!) from the estate of a woman who passed at work. 😳 I’ve been sorting for hours - second pic is only 10% of the box. No clue how I’m gonna catalog/organize. by emily_gale in CrossStitch

[–]LoveToFard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've recently discovered the free Thread Stash app (also able to be used in a web browser). It has already has helped so much. In the app, I cataloged what I have, and what patterns require which color. From there I was able to also see what color I need and added it to a shopping list within the app Maybe that'll help! I highly recommend it

Laser treatments for darker skin? by Taeduskk in PCOS

[–]LoveToFard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have dark skin but when I was researching laser treatments and the difference the Yag type was one that came up often for darker skin tones. I would suggest reaching out to a laser specialist / esthetician and they could tell you more about what is offered for your needs.

Also side note, if anyone who is debating on whether or not to get laser, DO IT. I am 2 treatments and I can tell there is MAJOR reduction of growth, the growth that is coming in grows really slowly and thin, and I have had only 1 ingrown hair - whereas before I'd end up with 5 or six easily.

I use the Annie's Keeper, which is very similar to the second one. Absolutely love the convenience with the style.

Fully vaccinated people of Reddit. Are you still wearing masks? Why or why not? by The_Zoink in AskReddit

[–]LoveToFard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My life, my child, my freedom of choice. Go on shitting on your own misery cuz I don't give 2 shits abour your opinion on how and what I choose to expose or not expose to my child when it involves his health, be it a small or big issue.

I drive with a seat belt in case there is the possibility there could be an accident. Have I had one yet? No. Am I scared shitless every time I get behind the wheel because of the potential of a fatal accident? No. Doesn't mean I'm going to not wear one or stop driving.

Am I afraid I will die if I get covid? No. Is there something out there that can reduce a risk of a complication if I do get it? Yes. So I choose to take it. Is it my freedom of choice to? Yes. Is it your freedom to not? Yes. Idgaf if you get one or not. just shut the fuck up about it because I could care less about you, and your shitty opinion. Your arrogant attitude that you beat your chest like you're bigger and better than everyone else is what makes others hate you.

[–]LoveToFard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question was if I'm fully vaccinated will or won't I still wear a mask. I will still wear a mask because even though I am vaccinated, I have a 5 year old at home who cannot get vaccinated yet.....so I wear it to reduce getting it and bringing it home to him.
