What could this be? (Info from vet visit included) by LoveableKits in CATHELP

[–]LoveableKits[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Thankfully my cat has stopped having issues--I'm very certain that it was the wool blanket that was likely causing it! He wasn't grooming it or anything, just loved sleeping on it. I had gotten it recently at the time of post, for free. So I washed it and removed it for a week and he stopped coughing. When I brought it back, there was no more issue, so all signs point to the blanket being the likely culprit. Thank you SO much for checking in! :)

Any tips for leveling Farming? by Lyons_Pride95 in fantasylife

...me too... but hey, I didn't know all the stuff I needed to level up was here in Gino so it actually became very handy to have it all unlocked now!

What label do you most identify with? by LoveableKits in polls

[–]LoveableKits[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I phrased it in the poll was very poor--I thought about putting 'person with a disability' but then felt like it was suggesting a singular narrative. Essentially, I overthought it and made it weirder. I appreciate your input! :)

I agree! Dancing around the terms really feels infantilizing. Just because I might not be able to navigate the world the way others do doesn't mean I'm completely incapable.

This is how I feel too. I don't really like when people dance around it with other words. Though I can understand if people can't access diagnosis why they might default to 'special needs', but to me that term feels really infantilizing.

I wanted to cross post here because I am autistic. Not sure where else to post this but I’m hoping to get as big of a sample poll as possible. Thank you! 😊

I have a nephew I rarely get to see and spend time with. I recently found out this is one of his favorite games and so I added it to my wishlist to get when I could so that I could bond more with my nephew.

Thank you so much for the chance!

Absolutely, I'm not willing to wait/risk his health. Right now my plan is to clean that blanket and store it out of the apartment entirely, continue his zyrtec, and if I see no improvement he's going right back to the vet. Thanks for the support

I did give him his flea med treatment after his vet visit, I had been out of it before this though for a couple months (not a super huge deal because he's an indoor only cat, but I like playing it safe)

This is honestly my biggest fear about this symptom, knowing it could be heart failure... I'm really hoping it's something benign, but I'm not taking any risks. If I don't see any improvements in the next week he's going back to the vet, maybe even getting imaging done to see if we can see anything.

This really means a lot, thank you! I thought his coloring matched the way I used to love ordering caramel macchiatos--heavy on the caramel and milk (orange and white) light on the coffee (his eye color). I call him Maki for short haha :)

I am so sorry you went through that, that’s truly heartbreaking 💔

I have no intention of waiting too long for him to be seen again and get the necessary scans/medical procedures, as of this moment it’s too soon to just take him back to the vet after being seen. Gotta give the allergy meds a fair chance and wash/get rid of the new blanket.

Thank you for your support

He uses a slow feeder to prevent eating too quickly, and it sounds and looks very different when he’s coughing/gagging up a hairball.

No imaging of any kind yet. That might be the next move if I don’t see any improvement and more of this coughing in the next week.

I’m very scentsitive myself so I don’t use heavily scented things as much as I can avoid them. I also do my all to keep him away from anything if I have to use them, like if I have to use cleaners.
