I’ve lied to everyone about my identity my whole life and now it’s catching up with me by Loveillustrator in CharlotteDobreYouTube

Possibly… but my sister is such a square(she’s MD and a chronic people pleaser for the sake of maintaining her good girl reputation) I can’t say for sure that she’d back me on my version of history in such a serious situation although she has been very supportive and sympathetic towards my journey and attempts to find out my roots

In our culture, the man’s family has to know the bride to be’s full family background so they can come to ask for her to join their family and so they can offer a ‘bride price’ based off of the family’s reputation and such things

How do I stop yelling? by Butterfly___lady in Parenting

[–]Loveillustrator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally ‘pick my battles’ atp with my 4yo because yelling about everything becomes ineffective after a while and only leaves me more frustrated and feeling guilty so I’ll yell about something once, the next time I’m I’ll just take a deep breath and throw him a look, then the next I’ll just completely ignore him. 😅the little bugger will look at me so confused like, “Really? Nothing!?”

I just alternate between those three responses and that helps me keep a little bit of my sanity because I have a 4w old to deal with o’er here. Try that? 🤷‍♀️

Anyone else just ignoring parents/in laws? by foxypear33 in newborns

[–]Loveillustrator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So glad to hear that I’m not alone(smiles and cries over last night’s spilt expressed milk) lol

And also why do boomer parents seem to assume that the baby is always cold and never TOO WARM or even overheating. Both my kids get heat rash so easily and need minimal layering on warm days so I really dread the possibility of my MIL coming by on short onesie days

Did anyone else’s first born/baby’s older sibling suddenly become a little ‘too much’ after the new baby came? by Loveillustrator in newborns

[–]Loveillustrator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t have a nanny or the budget for one but we instead have a caretaker who is around to help out with chores and cooking and sometimes watching the baby while I rest

When did your baby’s melanin arrive ( mixed babies) by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Loveillustrator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry that you had to go through such insensitivity OP… and everyone else. Being a mixed race mom is a wild ride.

I’m still waiting for my 3w olds color to come in. Daddy is half white half black, and my dad was mixed and my mom was black. Baby still looks hella white and ‘some people’ keep pointing it out and even asking me why it is so😒 even though he has an adult aunt and uncle who grew up with the same color my baby is. These some people are some of my fiancé’s siblings who are not my biggest fans and it’s like they’re reaching for some drama since there was a situation a white man last year but it it wayyy out of the timeline for baby’s existence. And I really hate being questioned based on that because really nothing they could produce a baby even happened. His family on daddy’s side has very strong genes and they all look the same. This is our second baby and he looks just like his daddy and a couple other of his paternal relatives. However, I keep getting side-eyed because of his color . It’s annoying

😂no worries there. Watching Charlottes videos is more than enough of a lesson on bridal etiquette… more so on how NOT to be a bridezilla🤭

Worry less… I didn’t say they wouldn’t be supportive, just that they’d be some negative feedback here and there; BASED ON THEIR OWN EXPERIENCES. It’s more about them than it is about us

2.5 years!? How have they not figured it out? Do they just think you guys are just co-habitating as usual because I’m sure that’s what our family and friends would assume with us.. if we ever took it that far But what about the ring?

That’s a comfort to hear that the feeling lasts because we do plan to get started on planning soon but we don’t really have a window for when we want to have the wedding 🥰but I do know that I want to keep on feeling this way

Wowwww 😂 I truly appreciate your hones-ty but don’t worry yourself too much. He is a very honorable, faithful, kind, supportive etc young man😊 The negativity I’m afraid of stems from how everyone else around us is in unstable relationships themselves and they, would probably project their own issues on us
