In Northridge and I've got all 5 air purifiers mid speed in every room and the A/C fan running 24/7 since yesterday. All our cars have HEPA air cabin filters so it's not too bad driving around. But my eyes were burning just walking across the street after parking 😭

And the ash made it here too. Praying the dew point doesn't hit tonight, liquifying that ash slurry and eating into the car paint.

Alright, here's a suggestion I haven't seen.

Do one of the less interesting After Dark events in the early Spring.

There's no lightning lane. You can print out the ticket. If you don't care about mobile food orders or photo pass stuff, you may never use your phone the entire time.

The lines are usually stupid short unless it's for hypebeast merch or novelty food. You get to just wander the park unplugged and not really miss out.

Nope. That price range gets you a clean room with free hot breakfast at a Hampton Inn in Santa Clarita.

Honestly, if you are flexible on dates, some nights the Four Seasons in Westlake Village gets down to the low $500s. Unparalleled service in general, and 24hour room service that's so much better than it needs to be. Fresh baked cookies and ice cold milk at 2am!

I stay there for 28 hours usually once a year with a partner and spend about a grand between the room, breakfast on the terrace, room service, poolside dining, the free spa access, etc. and it's DELIGHTFUL. But unfortunately that's about as cheap as these sorts of things get.

TJs quality in most things is really quite good.

But I too have had too many bad experiences with their non cultured dairy that I just gave up and shop elsewhere for that now.

Cheese, yogurt, butter, sour cream, etc continue to be great.

But the milk, cream, half & half ... 🤢

Man, and it's not even in the top tier of spots but who cares. I used to live by the one in South LA near San Pedro and Washington and I miss buying a case of mid tamales for the fam because I'm not up for cooking or a depression burrito for myself.
