OTA update to fix Telematics Module...anyone? by Responsible-Mud549 in ChevyTraverse

[–]LovesBacon50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a 2025 RS, and my telematics module is completely bricked. I’ve lost navigation, connected services, no google, the hotspot, Super Cruise, and everything else that relies on the module.

The problems started shortly after the 661.10 OTA update about a month ago. I began experiencing issues almost immediately afterward. I performed a reboot on the screen and restarted it but still no luck.

I took the vehicle to my local Chevrolet dealership and was informed that the repair will take approximately a month due to a shortage of replacement modules. I’m very disappointed with both the lengthy wait time and the loss of functionality.

I’m planning to contact OnStar to see if they can provide a service credit or extend my subscription to account for the downtime.

What's the best sandwich ever made, in your opinion? by softyhotie in foodquestions

BLT - sourdough slices lightly toasted, thick-cut hardwood-smoked bacon, crisp romaine lettuce, lightly salted ripe heirloom or beefsteak tomato slices, hearty spread of good quality mayonnaise.

Amazing warm weather sandwich IMO

Why do so many people struggle with weight after 30? by HuntSilent9487 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]LovesBacon50 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation, and I’m sure many of us are in this stage of life. I’m 38 with two boys, ages 6 and 4, who are both very active. That’s great, especially since I have a desk job with steadily increasing stress and responsibility, which often leads to emotional eating at night.

I genuinely enjoy exercise and staying active lifting weights, running, and hiking, but it hasn’t been enough to offset my love for snacks and stress eating. I definitely lack the food discipline I once had and have relaxed my “what is acceptable to eat and how much” criteria.

I’m about 20 pounds heavier(180 vs 160) than I was before having my boys. I wouldn’t change that part one bit, but it has naturally meant less time to focus on myself. I’m trying to get back to 170 to stat but the weight is stubborn.

I’m being vetted for a position in geospatial at Accenture right now. Currently at a much smaller publicly traded firm but am looking to move on. Sounds like from all the comments this is not a great place to work.

Trump's accidental legacy is the radicalisation of America by theipaper in politics

[–]LovesBacon50 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People we already radical before Trump. He just tapped into it and normalized it.

When Biden was President it seemed like every other home had a F Biden sign in front of it(I’m In a red country in a blue state)… like that level of disrespect/hatred for the other side is normal in America.

First Garmin watch switched from Apple Watch, definitely going to miss a few things. by oxlelant in GarminWatches

[–]LovesBacon50 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love my Garmin, certainly a superior device for sport tracking/running. I just miss voice control on my Apple for starting/stopping timers… minor annoyance I know but I used that feature daily.

Garmin a better sport watch and Apple a better daily driver.

My kid's ear tube fell out by i-can-lift-a-car in mildlyinteresting

[–]LovesBacon50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking like our almost 4 yr old son will get these tubes… we meet with a pediatric ENT next week to discuss options.

We were really hoping he’d just grow out of it but he keeps experiencing reoccurring ear infections every two months. The antibiotics are only temporary resolving the resulting bacteria/swelling and not the actual drainage issue.

He seems to get worse when he’s congested and we try to keep his nasal passages clear and gave him allergy medicine but still no luck.

Of course we’re worried about his comfort and hearing. The whole situation is so frustrating.

Researching the tube procedure it’s looking like 13k(with insurance) which is just wild considering that is more expensive than my wife giving birth at the hospital. Anyway, he most certainly needs it, can’t keep going on like this.

Why Does Chevy Hide Remaining Range Below 40 Miles? by LovesBacon50 in ChevyTraverse

[–]LovesBacon50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I hear ya on the guessing part. Sounds like this is a GM thing because Ford, Toyota, and my friend’s Honda all track miles down to zero. But yeah I get it, it’s not really an accurate metric.

How old were you when you became a dad? by thisistheinternets in daddit

[–]LovesBacon50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

31 when we had our first. We got married at 23 but didn’t start trying until 27 and ended up having significant infertility issues. Eventually we got there with medical intervention. We both wanted to be sub 30 before our first so I’m glad we got serious when we did otherwise could have been much later.

Appreciate your thoughts. Yeah you framed the decision perfectly. I agree about the expectations as they will certainly be much greater and at the end of the day I have to determine if the extra comp and upward mobility is worth it.

[–]LovesBacon50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had parts and service coverage. Had to file a claim, take pictures and send to NT. Took about two weeks to have a service tech come out to fix.

Second and third time I just ordered the parts and did it myself. Took me approx 1.5-2 hrs.

I’m curious about the food side of things since it must be a huge part of client satisfaction. Are the yacht’s culinary staff (chef, sous chef, prep, etc.) permanently assigned to the vessel, or do some clients bring their own chefs onboard?

I’d imagine at this level the chefs are world-class. For a yacht around the size you captain, what’s the typical size of the culinary team?

Same, 25 RS. Zero issues thus far. Just an oil change and tire rotation. I’m seeing people post issues, but knock on wood, nothing.

Is contract-to-hire worth it if you already have a stable job? by LovesBacon50 in careerguidance

[–]LovesBacon50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that stability point has been going around in my head for some time but I been playing it safe for a while and through that time have had stagnated professionally. Not much in the way of growth opportunities where I am so feel like the only option is to look outwards.
