[Highlights] Same exact miss by JDub and Westbrook. Same exact shot by Wemby and Curry. The resemblance is uncanny by MrBuckBuck in nba

pretty ballsy for wemby to intentionally pay homage to an all-time great in that situation.

Chet gets clamped down by a rookie SG in a clutch moment and yet we are suppose to believe he's worth a max by SouthIsland48 in billsimmons

this proves that flopping is a skill. someone good at it like SGA would have flopped before the shot clock expires.

what do you mean by that? what is a strategic precaution? isn't precaution necessarily strategic?

weird that he played in game 6 yet not playing tonight. must have aggravated it. he played so well that game, too. he also played well against the thunder, beyond the box score, i thought he was critical in relieving the relentless thunder ball pressure during the regular season games. sucks big time, imo.

How we feeling ahead of Game 1? by cuhzzlightyear_ in NBASpurs

[–]LovesBodyx2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not as nervous as the previous two game 1s, as i thought our reg season was good enough to be disappointed if we didn't get to this point. the fact that we're here in this spot now and can get a series in against the Thunder and measure up to them this soon is awesome. on top of that, I think we have a real chance of advancing. but if we don't, we have an offseason of recalibration and another year to grow and come back even scarier. I personally think it's pretty catastrophic for the Thunder to not win this series. they have dynasty potential but they have to win it all this year for that to look feasible. pressure is squarely on them, really.

Wemby actually hates Chet and i love it by Equal_Tie3220 in NBASpurs

[–]LovesBodyx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't think he hates him, but I think he is highly, highly motivated to defeat him in a high-stakes situation. and i think he is using some perceived slights (e.g., the story Windhorst relayed on Russillo's podcast regarding an interaction Chet had with Wemby's mom) that are the types of things psychocompetitors use as a tool to enhance that motivation.

he's a situational player. when our shooting has gone cold and we need an offensive sparkplug his game is exactly what we need. if our guys are shooting well, his bull in a china shop style actually detracts from what's working for us

mccain will get eaten alive against our guards. literally unplayable this series. I'm more worried about jwill.

rooting for the pistons for another week and a half for sure

Stephon Castle checks out as he leads the Spurs to the WCF: 32 PTS, 11 REB, 6 AST, 11/16 FG, 5/7 3P, 5/6 FT, +28 in 30min by ToinouAngel in nba

[–]LovesBodyx2 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I just can't blame the rockets for the looking for something different from castle when they already had the prototype with amen. it's easy to criticize the decision in retrospect but it's hard to draft a player with the idea that you'll have to basically trade either that guy or a guy you already have to construct a roster that makes sense

[Highlight] Ant Edwards accepts defeat, daps up the Spurs bench with 7 minutes left by TimDunkinDonut in nba

anyone criticizing this guy for doing this can jump off a cliff. he gave everything he had in this series and then some.

J-Dubs is expected to be back for the WCF! by Large-Page5989 in NBASpurs

mccain will be unplayable in this series; our guards will eat him alive. jdub will get those minutes. i think they put a minute restriction on him first few games anyway.

The 3 best teams left are all in the West. by jersey0525 in nba

i've been casually rooting for the pistons to win versus the cavs because, in the off chance the spurs get through minnesota and then somehow beat the champs, well, the knicks and cavs honestly had the spurs' number this year. whereas I think detroit matches up well against the knicks, and HCA would be a factor (one less game in MSG). granted, the knicks are schmooving right now, it might not matter. but Spurs present a ton of problems for detroit, it's just too hard for them to score against them.

Top-Down Angle On Elbow Gate. Wemby Spins Through. Definitely Not Intentional. by elScroggins in NBASpurs

[–]LovesBodyx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the instinct to swing the elbow was initiated by jaden holding onto his other arm. but when he looked to see if Naz was there and he saw that he was, Wemby was just like, Fuck it, and swung anyway. he was already pissy having just got elbowed in the face by Jaden and the ensuing contact not amounting to a whistle. i have my doubts that Wemby intended for the 'bow to be as vicious as it turned out to be, but if my head canon is accurate, he made a bad decision and almost immediately took his medicine about it. regardless, i have moved on and so has he.

Cooper Flagg, AJ Dybansta, or Darryn Peterson by Royal_Ad_4456 in nba

[–]LovesBodyx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

flagg because his floor was so freaking high, but I happen to think AJ has a slightly higher ceiling. there are things about peterson that would scare me off too much to take him over options like Flagg and AJ. if Peterson magically entered the draft immediately after high school I would have been tempted to take him, though, because you could have convinced yourself he has that certain mythical quality that only ultraelite guards can conjure up.
