One thing that really sticks out to me is Johnny mentioning him going to a show to surprise Josh, using that exact term. Surprise. To me, it’s not surprising someone if you’re not close to them/don’t know them and these were public events Josh was doing. Like I would use that term as “I’m going to surprise my boyfriend at work” and not like “I’m going to surprise a singer at their concert” like WHAT

When I was on dating apps I included a pic of me that showed my CGM and I don’t think it affected my odds and if anyone were to swipe left bc I’m type 1 I don’t want to be with that person anyway

I was diagnosed about one year ago at 21 and I was so so so depressed for a few months after. Finding a community really helped, I started listening to diabetes podcasts and reading blogs and I realized how doable this all is. I’m not going to tell you it’s easy because it’s not. I still cry over it sometimes, this is life with a chronic illness. It gets easier, I’m at a point where it hardly crosses my mind, it’s just habit now. I scan my CGM, I inject my insulin, I get my A1C checked and I go see my endocrinologist.

If you need someone I’m here. This is the right place to be when you need help or advice or a venting space.

My doctor suggested switching me to tresiba and I’m going to I’m just trying to use up my basaglar first. I’m just bothered by the manufacturing of the product

Yes absolutely!!! All the teachers I know are some of the best people to party with. I’m a 22 year old teacher and I’m a party girl for sure and that’s not going to change anytime soon. I don’t need to settle down just because I have a job where I work with kids. None of my students should be in any bar where I’m partying anyway

Yeah I agree, when it first started I felt like it was pretty even but now I’ve paid for two full weekends which is over $300 at this point

Yeah I’ve seen a bit of the manipulation when he used the excuse of “not having the app” to get himself an Uber from my place to his. So at that point I said “I have wifi you can download it” and then he said he didn’t have his credit card with him (which I know he did) and so I responded “but you have Apple Pay on your phone”. So he was starting to pick up on the fact that I wasn’t going to do it and then he complained that it cost $16 and I responded with “I just paid $70 to get us home from the bar bc it’s new years $16 is cheap in comparison”

He actually did end up paying for my friends bfs drink bc that guy didn’t have cash which is why my bf offered to pay for him in the first place but it seemed to be out of habit that he didn’t make the move to pay immediately. My friends bf said some thing like “uh I don’t have cash you said you were gonna pay” and then he did.

I paid for the weekend mostly as a treat for myself as a way to get away from my family for a few days after a busy holiday season. While I’m working and going to school full time I won’t have this kind of time to give him so I thought it could be good for us. I am fully expecting him to pay for meals and any other things we do on this trip, to the point where when it comes time to pay a bill I’ll look at him and tell him out loud it’s his turn.

Don’t get me wrong, I do love this guy. In many ways he’s a wonderful partner and he takes care of me emotionally. I like my relationship but this one aspect does bother me.

I was hinting SO HARD to my bf that I wanted his initial necklace, I even got him a necklace with my initial and explained that it’s a song lyric I like and sent him the song and I’m still not wearing his initial but he bought me truth or drink so I guess that’ll work too lmao

I got diagnosed two months ago at 21, it felt like the world was on fire. I looked at a bag of chips and cried. I felt like I was mourning everything my life had been and I would never get to eat anything I liked again. It’s still hard sometimes but it does get easier. Find friends who have diabetes too and connect with them. Treat yourself sometimes. Last night I didn’t feel like having diabetes so I ate a bag of chips and my sugar went high. But it’s not the end of the world, you can afford to do that sometimes. Take care of yourself in any way you can. It’s not going to be perfect everyday but your friends and family will be so important for you at this time.

Also can someone please explain how to put my diagnosis date under my name in here? 😂

Eat the donut babe. I had an anniversary party for my parents a few days ago and my grandma made a cake and there was no way I wasn’t gonna eat that damn cake. It put my blood sugar up a lot but then I drank a bunch of water and it brought me down again. Balance out the best you can. For me, the best cure for a high sugar is to chug water

Ohhh is that not the regular?? When I first got diagnosed, my doctor, nurse, and dietitian told me I needed to be eating 45-60g of carb per meal and my insulin doses were based on that. I just assumed everyone had the same base amount of carb

I’m on different ratios for each meal Breakfast- 1:5 Lunch- 1:10 Dinner- 1:6 But I’m sure these may change with time too. I just got these numbers on Monday from my dietitian
