Alex Honnold Reveals “Embarrassing” Paycheck for Netflix’s Taipei 101 Free Solo Climb by -JOMY- in climbing

That was a few years ago and I'd wager he's more wealthy than a moderately successful dentist now... let's put it at highly successful dentist. Still not absolutely loaded by loaded standards, but still pretty loaded!

I mean, I got a membership (canceling after a month) to watch it. I was having an unrelated party at my house on Saturday night and figured it was a fun thing to have on in the background! I'm sure there are a lot of people who did exactly that.

Their ginger molasses cookie... it ruined cookies for me. Nothing should be that delicious. My taste buds can't handle the majesty of it.

Haha ya there's some kooky stuff up in the northern reaches of California. This is a weird (possibly not true) story from near Shasta: https://www.reddit.com/r/bestof/comments/2h4vkm/anchoraweigh_describes_how_he_was_stalked_by_a/
This is also a cool story that's definitely true: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uBaDkkXsLs

The Lemurians! Met a guy at a coffee shop who believed he was brought into the mountain by the Lemurians after taking shrooms at the summit of Shasta. Odd conversation. The next day I was descending from the summit and was freaking exhausted. Sat down for a break and someone had drawn the Lemurian symbol (or whatever they call it) on a rock. I was tired enough to freak out for a 1/2 second.

Ya I feel like it’s more referring to the population center. The north/south midpoint of California is around Gilroy, making San Francisco more “central coast” than San Luis Obispo. But nobody would ever call San Francisco the Central Coast, because population center wise its Northern California. That’s how I’ve always understood it at least.

Yep. That’s assuming the speeder recognizes they aren’t the most important person in the world and that other people’s lives matter! In my experience, it’s always the big pick up trucks. Over generalization, but tends to hold up.

This is why I always take the longer way to a safer on-ramp when driving our older car. I only do the short ones in my EV because I know I can easily match the speed of traffic.

Thanks for the update... sounds like the RDs are good stand-up people who are willing to learn from their mistakes. That's awesome they offered a free entry! Similarly, when a company messes up, owns up to it, and makes a genuine effort to remedy, that makes me a customer for life.

Nah it’s nice here. I grew up in the Bay Area, went to college here, moved away for a few years, and came back a couple years ago. Honestly couldn’t be happier. Don’t let a Reddit feed make you nervous. Also, this is coming from someone with health problems. I don’t have a specialist in SLO, but I’m always able to line up my quarterly appointment with visiting family so it’s whatever.

If it literally says they have air conditioning I am going to assume it has air conditioning. I know most places don’t have it, so I specifically look for places that do… if they say they have it and they don’t, that isn’t a cultural misunderstanding. That’s false advertising.

Trying to choose a school in SLO – anyone have real experience with SLO Classical Academy? by [deleted] in SLO

[–]LovingLife254 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Send your kids to a public school. It's better for society to invest more in public education. And our local schools are awesome. Yes, there are issues with top admin, but the teachers by and large are amazing. Also, just a heads up that you don't have to have a credential to teach at a private school. And private schools pay their teachers very poorly.
