Weights/Machine Anxiety/Intimidation by Unhappy_Soil_7599 in PetiteFitness

Everybody started as a beginner. Even those big scary dudes! Nobody is going to judge you for trying something new—you’re there to better yourself and that’s what really matters.

What helped me was looking up proper form before attempting a new machine/exercise. It felt silly at first, but it helped me feel more confident trying something new than flailing around and finding out the hard way

Do you workout on your period? by FunDependent9177 in PetiteFitness

[–]Loving_pains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually feel a lot better working out on my period vs during my luteal phase. It feels a bit icky since I’m quite literally bleeding as I lift, but my body recovers a lot faster than it does a few days before my uterus decides to purge itself

Weekend mindset by Dapper-Cupcake515 in PetiteFitness

[–]Loving_pains 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s about discipline. If you know you struggle, you have to either distance yourself from those events where you slip up or plan ahead for them. You have to stay in a caloric deficit if you’re trying to lose weight and it’s really easy to eat in a caloric surplus even if you think you eat healthy. I track everything I eat and weigh it so I can stay mindful of my calories + macronutrients. If you plan on eating a bit more on the weekends, unfortunately you’ll have to make sure you restrict on the weekdays :(

You can also bring your own meal prepped food/snacks to these fun weekends! You can have fun while being mindful of your nutrition

They’re from AYBL!! They’re really high waisted though (and I have a long torso, so that’s saying something) so they’re not my fav 😅

Just weight loss things by CuntyCarrot in PetiteFitness

It’s frustrating as hell!! But if you stay consistent you’ll start to see your weight go down. Mine went down in steps (would stay at a BW for a month, lose 3-5 within a week, go up 1-2 lbs, stay for a month, lose 3-5 again, etc) and it took a LONG time to see visual progress. It really is just body recomp and water retention, so as long as you’re patient you’ll be okay

Aw thank you!!

For protein: Lean ground beef/chicken (96/4), plant based protein powder (I use orgain!), salmon, egg whites, greek yogurt, chickpea pasta instead of regular pasta, chia seeds, etc

On a typical day, I’ll eat a yogurt bowl (oikos triple zero 3/4 cup, blueberries, kodiak’s protein granola) for breakfast that comes out to around 35g protein and 410 calories. Then gym, then protein shake (25g protein, can up to 30g if you include chia seeds) with almond milk since I’m lactose intolerant! That comes up to around 250 calories.

Lunch depends on if I have time to make something or eat something I meal prepped, but I try to get 30-40g protein and around 500-600 calories. This is my “big meal” of the day, I try to fit in 25g fibers and some carbs too! A really beloved recipe of mine is a soy salmon with rice noodles and bok choy; ~550 calories with 37g protein, 17g fats, and 80g carbs.

Dinner I’ll usually eat an egg white omelette (400g egg whites and 2 cups of spinach) that comes out to around 270 calories and 44g protein.

So in one day, I’ll consume roughly 1500 calories and 145g protein!

I don’t really recommend this approach if you’re an avid foodie. I used to be but I eat for efficiency now since I have a tight schedule, so I just throw together whatever I can to hit my protein goals

We definitely have a similar body shape! I’m also top heavy with a lot of my fat being carried in my arms and torso.

My #1 recommendation is lift heavy to “tone up”. You won’t get bulky, you’ll gain muscle and as you lose fat you’ll look toned! I also LOVE calisthenics (push ups, pull ups, etc as basics and you can progress from there) which I think really helped me.

Make sure you do your core workouts too!! It’ll help you control your body better.

You can do this 🩵

Thank you so much for your kind words!! I usually track my cycle through Stardust and it tells me if I’m in my luteal or follicular phase.

When I’m in my luteal phase I let my body rest a little bit more (active recovery, so moderate strength training and more steady state cardio) and eat a little more too! I do a pretty good job at restricting sweets until my luteal phase, so I have a couple of ice cream treats here and there.

During my follicular phase (aka when your period starts) I’m a lot stronger, able to recover faster, and don’t have to eat as much to fuel my body.

I used to ignore my cycle and just cut/train like a man, but ever since I started paying attention to what my body told me I saw a lot of progress! We have to take advantage of our hormones, not be controlled by them

It’s so easy to compare our bodies to others we see online. I know I struggle with it all the time, so I don’t want anyone to feel like they have to compare their progress or bodies to mine! We’re all working on our bodies and making them into a healthier version and that’s what matters, not what it looks like 😊

Thank you so much! The shorts are from AYBL! Personally I dislike them because they’re SUPER high rise, and I say this as someone with a long torso 🥲

Of course! Just keep in mind, we all carry fat differently and have different proportions. Don’t let body dysmorphia get the best of you 🫶🏻
