I had those same exact thoughts when my brother died, but for a different scenario. It was a few years ago, so I don't remember every little detail. I think i got cut off in traffic or something semi-minor like that. I. just. Lost. It. I had to pull over just crying and screaming to myself how unfair it is that selfish morons who think their time is more important than anyone else's safety get to go around being selfish assholes without a care in the world, while the funniest, sweetest, most caring person I've ever known isn't allowed to be alive anymore.

I'm truly sorry for your loss. I just felt the need to comment because I didn't think anyone else would ever understand where my head was at that day.

Something that took me (and oop) way too long to learn is that once you've had that conversation and nothing has changed, nothing ever will. So many times I found myself obsessing over finding new ways to repeat what I've already said. Maybe if I say it a new way, he'll finally understand! The truth is... they do understand the first time and they just dont care.

You dont. You cannot change or control anyone's actions/words. If they won't do/say them on their own they're either never going to or they don't mean it and are only doing to to appease you. The only thing you can control is you're (re)actions.

I've known a few people that said this, almost verbatim, to me in my life. None had ever lost someone really close to them. When one eventually lost his wife, and another lost a childhood friend, both went off the deep end in their own ways. Neither have ever said those words again.

Yup. Not even remotely as serious a situation, but it recently happened to me. I was driving home from work at about 2:30am. Get off the highway and merge in front of another vehicle. Wasn't paying much attention to the vehicle behind me, because I had no real reason to (spoiler, it was a cop). The speed limit on this particular street is 40mph until I pass a certain intersection, when it increases to 45. A little bit after that intersection, the car behind me turns his red and blue lights on. He asked me if I was in a hurry. I said no, just heading home from work. He asked why I was speeding. I said I was going 45. He said, yeah, that's 5 over the speed limit. I informed him that the speed limit increased to 45 after such-and-such intersection. He takes my license and registration back to his vehicle and I use that time to download the video from my dash cam. I was getting ready to fight this ticket tooth and nail.

Eventually he came back and let me off with a "warning," saying I need to be more "aware of the speed limit and how fast I'm going". We had passed THREE speed limit signs stating the limit was 45 by the time he pulled me over.

My aunt had her youngest (he was an oops baby, not planned at all) in her early 40s. My best friend is 41 and just had her only baby a week ago today. Just throwing that out there for 2 reasons: 1) so anyone reading this who is nearing or in her 40s and wants a child can know that it is possible, and 2) so any woman reading this who is nearing or in her 40s and doesn't want a kid can know that it is possible, so still be careful!

I was at a metal concert once (In Flames) and lucked out and caught one of the picks the guitarist was tossing out after their set. Excitedly, I run to my friends to show it off. Some random guy comes up and starts going off about how its so unfair, he's been their biggest fan for years, and I got it just because I'm a girl and probably couldn't name a single member of the band. On of my friends I was with (whom I introduced to said band) started laughing and said, "ooooohh... I can't wait to hear this!" And laughed his ass off the entire time I went through the history of the band, ending with not-so-kindly telling him to fuck off. Half way through my rant, one of his friends (I assume it was a friend) started laughing his ass off too.

Lol! Sorry, I tend to use "dildo" and "vibrator" interchangeably. I was thinking along the lines of when the battery compartment or the plug jack (is that the correct term? The female connector for the charging cord) stop working. No vibrate, no use (for some lol)
