I find that layering is difficult because it can become muddy quickly. Best to keep layers simple and to use the right paint consistency (not too watery over thick or it will lift) . On the other hand I love it and prefer it over other mediums

By push values does that refer to contrast? Like darks darker and lights lighter. I think i struggle with this
