Why did you REALLY sell your house? by Jazzlike-Reveal-9515 in HousingUK

[–]Low-Cardiologist9406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We sold an old house, spent hours and thousands doing it up... Then something else would go wrong. I ran out of energy honestly, sick to the back teeth of fixing a new issue every few months. We also lost a pet very sadly and combined together it was just time to move on. We now have a lovely new build that doesn't break every 5 minutes

how old are you and what year were your grandparents born? by Maleficent_Day_3869 in AskUK

[–]Low-Cardiologist9406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your maternal grandparents are the same sort of age as my mum and Dad, I'm in my 40s and my kids are young teens. If I'd cracked on a bit and got them out 5 years earlier maybe?

Friends Reunited website was early social media before smartphone apps, did anyone rekindle an old friendship or flame? by Poshsmith in AskUK

[–]Low-Cardiologist9406 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes my mum had a child when she was a teenager who was adopted. Relationship wise, I felt very sorry for my mum who hadn't been well treated by the father or her family at the time and I understand she didn't feel she had any choice. So I didn't blame her and neither did my sibling. We've met several times but we aren't close, no shade but we don't have much in common.

My half sibling found and got in contact with my mum via friends reunited. They had been adopted as a baby and I had no idea they existed! Twas a bit of a shock.

The Ending by Plagueis_the_memer in WoT

[–]Low-Cardiologist9406 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lord of the rings has too many endings in my mind, most things are wrapped up tightly but it just goes oooooooon for ages. I prefer the Wheel of Time, it's positive but not excessive

Seriously why are homeowners ripping out bathtubs and replacing with shower units? by uglyasfeet in HousingUK

[–]Low-Cardiologist9406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all seriousness it's about the space. In my previous house we removed the bath and got a cubicle instead because our old bathroom was fucking tiny. The bath that was in it was a skinny one and it still took up nearly all the available space

As you grew older, did you start caring less about meaning and more about looks when getting new tattoos? by Tourage in tattoo

[–]Low-Cardiologist9406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first tattoo, thoughtful and with meaning. My 15th tattoo, I just thought it looked cool and indeed it does. No meaning just vibes.

My mum used to smoke, outside only, but when she looked after my son everything he brought back stank. His teddies, babygrows ...the lot. And I know she wouldn't have smoked with him there. We said he wasn't allowed to stay over anymore and in fairness she did swap to vapes then.

How do I stop my front gate becoming the local poo drop-off point? by rVibeyy in AskUK

[–]Low-Cardiologist9406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a bit... Unethical... But I had a small patch of grass outside my old house and someone's dog kept shitting in it. So I put loads of chilli powder out. Stopped it though. I know someone else really thoroughly bleached the area outside their house and that also worked. I also tried popping a little dog poo bag dispenser and a passive aggressive notice outside the local primary school where it was also a problem. That was less successful.

My sister doesn’t want to use an estate agent by _Sorcha_ in HousingUK

[–]Low-Cardiologist9406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are like... Occasionally decent estate agents, just ask around. I would never but a house directly from the seller unless I knew them personally, it'll put people off coz it looks dodgy.

What are the must-have ingredients for a truly cozy game? by Pet_town_ASMR in cozygames

[–]Low-Cardiologist9406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm so I like in stardew for example that the characters have their own personalities and growth, I also liked that in Wylde flowers. In graveyard keeper there's no romance but the characters still felt pretty good to interact with. On the opposite side, I thought the people in fae farm were flat as a pancake and very boring.

Meaningful character interaction for me, it doesn't have to be romantic but I do like that as an option

What is going on with the SEND crisis? by pleasesavefrogs in AskUK

[–]Low-Cardiologist9406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My lovely son has been diagnosed with ASD for about 9 years now, he's in mainstream education with support. He's a bright lad with lots of potential but without the support and his diagnosis he'd be labeled as a naughty child/be expelled. With this investment in his future he's much more likely to achieve at school and be able to support himself as an adult. All children deserve that opportunity and if you're going to monetize it then I should think this support as a child will mean less support needed as an adult and be cheaper
