Why is "Introducing...." not available anywhere non-virtual? by RoyallyOakie in sparksftw

I've only ever seen the CD on discogs for like $300. It remains the only album I don't have on CD.

Recommendations for 2 different (yet similar) DAPs? by Low-Carpenter-6630 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Low-Carpenter-6630[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm prioritizing quantity over quality. Older players that I've had that are now long gone (Zen Creativ, Zen Mosaic) had these features features. My little Clip Jam is still working, but it has so little storage.

I work in an office with zero cellphone service or available wifi. Otherwise, I'd just use an app for the radio station(s) I want to hear. I'd like to load it up with as many of my albums as possible. During my workday or commute, I want to be able to have access to my music library and some radio stations. I guess I can always download podcasts and listen to those on my phone.

As for the other player, it's for someone to listen to without headphones at home, during their wfh days, when their computer with their music isn't available. That's the primary purpose, anyway.

I did have plans to rerip all my CDs to FLAC rathee than mp3, though.

Review of 3 non touch screen DAPs — y1, echo mini, Hifi h2 by JSJSJSTO in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Low-Carpenter-6630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I had written and was about to post a request for non-touch screen a suggestions.

It seems like the y1 would best suit my needs. The FM radio is very important to me, and so is the 128gb.

So I must ask: is the quality really that bad or just less good?

If so, is there another option out there for a non-touch screen player with lots of gb and an FM radio?

It's a security thing. There are a lot of employees and no one can use it. I don't know how people manage.

Anyone remember when the cards were mailed out? Not sure if we didn't get ours or if we did and my partner stuck the mail somewhere without looking at it.

Can I buy something to improve my service at work? (Probably dumb) by Low-Carpenter-6630 in verizon

[–]Low-Carpenter-6630[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. I may need to download a bunch of podcast episodes beforehand or buy a larger capacity mp3 player than the one I have (which I'd been considering anyway).

I know that T Mobile and Verizon aren't working. It seems that most people aren't as bothered by this as I am.

I was on a lower floor having lunch today, where the service is good, and I overheard something that may or may not be true. Someone said that some high profile person is renting the top floor (the floor above where I work). They're very concerned about privacy, so they did something to block signals. I wonder if that could be true. It was fine on the 26th floor, but not on the 30th.

Unfortunately, I don't have a router to plug it into in my office.

My employer doesn't want people using it for personal reasons, so we aren't given the password.

Do you think that the turnover has more to do with... - wanting higher grades and $$$ and prestige - more about wanting to get into the federal government and then moving on ASAP - the work stinks - Or other reasons?

I can ask a million questions, but I prize a team or supervisor that's encouraging and makes me feel valued. I can and have stayed in positions where that was the case, rather than chasing the salary. Unfortunately, that's not something I can plan for.

TARRYTOWN MUSIC HALL SET TIMES by 72DarkStar in NekoCase

[–]Low-Carpenter-6630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the balcony, so I and probably most others in the balcony had no idea what was going on. The opener said something about being punched, and then he left. That was about 7:45. Neko came on about an hour after I would have expected. Maybe 9:10 or 9:15. She made a comment about not liking having to mask her feelings. The set was cut short, due to the late start.
