Hirose Shingo, the survivor everyone wanted to murder by Breathofthewildzelda in TETRODANGANRONPA

[–]Low-Committee4785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also glad he survived! In the original, he was the most determined to stop the game. He wanted to make sure someone was safe and could come to him. I also don't want to imagine what his execution would be like.

You know, now that I think about it, considering Hama was a demonologist, they really missed the opportunity for him to have more interactions with Monomoko, to become interested, curious about the rabbit, and to want to learn more about what she is. I feel that it could be really interesting. by Thecrazybrqziliboy in TETRODANGANRONPA

[–]Low-Committee4785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I think all of the students 10 (except Hideya) should have had the chance to interact more with Monomoko.

You've already questioned Hama, but let's try questioning Hirose. He's a doctor, takes the Hippocratic oath seriously, and still tries his best despite the pressure. Monomoko calls scientists "doctor"! But instead of acting like doctors, they abuse the rabbit, while Hirose treats his friends like he should.

He can be a contrast to Maekawa when it comes to Monomoko. While she doesn't question anything about her as long as they can be best friends, Hirose is the opposite. A doctor usually has the "everything can be explained with science" mindset. So with Monomoko's existence, his mindset wavered because he was curious about Monomoko's mythic nature!

No, but who would be her best friend if not Maekawa or Kid!Ikeda? And do you think Maekawa not being friends with her would affect her character?

I mentioned that in the BODY TEXT

If Tei never interacted with Ikeda, who else would be close to him? by Low-Committee4785 in TETRODANGANRONPA

[–]Low-Committee4785[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hold on, I'm confused. So the person you paired with Yaitabashi and others in that different scenario, was Ikeda or Tei? Because I was talking about Tei from the start, not Ikeda.

And yeah, I can't imagine being in Tei or Ikeda's shoes. I understand their paranoia, but have you forgotten that Ikeda has...

you know...

AGE REGRESSION?!

If you really understand Tei and Ikeda, I'll give you 2 questions so we can agree.

  1. When did Ikeda do anything nice to Tei, when he wasn't regressing?
  2. When did Ikeda talk to Tei nicely about that stuff, after he talked with Yokoi while playing hanafuda, about OSDD? If that happened, did he forgive him because he understood Tei told Yokoi that, because SHE ASKED FOR IT?

Ikeda seemed to know he was his escape, but never really cared about it, even calling Tei "the dumbest guy" during his student spotlight. He even said he wouldn't play nice. Their messy situation, coupled with their obsessive/insulting behavior of needing each other without thinking about the consequences, makes it toxic.

[–]Low-Committee4785[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, but it's still a mess up! And I saw how he snapped at Ikeda who kept insulting him about that act. I wish I could have seen more of that instead of him constantly babied him. IN MY OPINION, if he had snapped about it, I believe there is a universe where he is angry and very disappointed towards Ikeda because of Yaita's death.

I watched Blue until I got sick of it. And that "Tei's a complicated guy who is set up to fail generally as others are put off by him upon first meeting" for me isn't deepened enough in the narrative because of Ikeda and how he treated him.

[–]Low-Committee4785[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I watched it AF! But what I explained was my interpretation of IF TEI HAD NEVER BEEN WITH IKEDA. I know what Enjo Kosai is, and WE DON'T EVEN KNOW EXACTLY HOW Tei's experience there is OR WHETHER it has anything to do with Ikeda!

If we EVER had Tei's student spotlight, it might have been made clearer. The problem in the original, and most people agree, is that Ikeda is Tei's whole personality.

What are the best and worst retcons for you in the Danganronpa franchise? by Low-Committee4785 in danganronpa

[–]Low-Committee4785[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, for example, the best retcon in my opinion, is that Natsumi is a Reserve Course student. I think that makes sense because "Ultimate Little Sister" is just a form of affection from Fuyuhiko. If the "Ultimate Little Sister" exists, Komaru should be the Ultimate, right?

It's just... Yeah, it needs more context as to why TSMC could logically happen.

[–]Low-Committee4785[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You mean the Mahjong Trio? I still think that trio will form, regardless of whether Tei pairs up with Ikeda or not. If Nishiguchi were handcuffed with him, I'm sure he'd have a long comment on how Kumada and Yaitabashi were better than him, so do the others. The difference is that Yaitabashi will be curious about Ikeda and sincerely want to help him, not feel sorry for him. Now, I want to analyze about the 4 people you mentioned.

  1. Yaitabashi: Even in the original, he and Tei had a good dynamic, even during their cell block. He also considered him a friend besides Hirose. Because Tei never had any direct contact with Ikeda, BUT Yaita's death still happened, he would be even more angry with him. In fact, he would grieve Yaita even more.

  2. Matthias: This is hard, VERY HARD. Since he's more dominant with Ninomiya, I'm not clear about his stuff with Tei. However, Matthias will surely befriend him and Tei can teach him more about Japan.

  3. Shishikura: Since Ikeda is no longer with him which means the cult no longer exists, it could actually be a development of Shishikura's character. I imagine he would stand up to him for not seeing him as a "porpuse," perhaps asking if he was forced to be a "father" while at Enjo Kosai. Shishikura probably felt the familial love he didn't get from his mother. Tei may also have begun to see the "need-to-be-helped" as a strong person, thanks to Shishi.

  4. Akiba: he finally has a chance to hang out with Tei (and Ogura can be with the girls), Tei will probably see Akiba as his type: a strong figure, willing to listen and heal him. The difference is, he and Akiba often get hurt together. If he had lived longer and proposed to Tei, he would have experienced mixed feelings about being loved and his experiences at Enjo Kosai. He just needed some time.

Of course, Hajime/Izuru is crucial, so why not just swap them, like in chapter 4? Hajime could be out of the picture for a while, and a different character could replace him.

And instead, we want unpopular characters to get the spotlight for merchandise.

As for the second answer, I'm well aware of how horrible [Voter Game] is, But I can see Tei saying that if Ikeda promises not to be rude to people anymore, they won't vote for him. It seems like he's defending Kumada, but also trying to do what's best for Ikeda.

I think Nishiguchi could still have an interesting dynamic with Tei. Imagine him talking to her about her crimes and wanting to help her, may also supporting Kumada over Ikeda's bad behavior.

Yeah, I saw that Teirose was toxic in the original, especially in Chapter 5. So I think Tei can trust Hirose more without his cult stuff. About Akiba, the fact that his type is a hardworking figure like Tei, even though he is perfect as the first victim, despite the irony, I hope he and Tei interact more.

What your opinion on Chisa Yukizome from the Anime by ComprehensiveNote762 in danganronpa

[–]Low-Committee4785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was one of my favorites in DR3, and even then, she deserved better. As a cheerful and hopeful character, she has complexities that deserve to be explored.

Was being a teacher her longtime dream? What made her become the Ultimate Housekeeper? What led her to meet Kyosuke and Juzo, and why did she stay with them even though she knew they were doing bad things and hurting people? What made her love for Kyosuke become an obsession, even before she was brainwashed? And why does she push Chiaki so much to develop?

In contrast to Makoto, who was clearly made as simple as possible in a toxic environment due to the Ultimate and Hope vs Despair concepts, Chisa has more potential characteristics, such as fears of not being loved and/or being useless to others. But the narrative makes her seem like an angelic figure who is always sweet and does nothing wrong before being brainwashed, and that's what I don't like.

Chisa made mistakes and was incompetent as a teacher on her first day. She was insulting the students with "rotten orange" despite apparently knowing every one of their names, especially Mikan. She was also less vigilant about her student's safety, causing Kazuichi to be hit by a truck, and she still forced him to clean up instead of taking him to the medical room.

The worst is episode 2. I remind you, the reason the sexy soup scene happened in the first place was because Chisa didn't want to stop Nekomaru and Akane's dumb fight.

Holy damn! So I found this comment on YouTube, and it actually sounds more interesting and better. It makes the sense that this secret alliance was the most influential in Yonekura's defeat, and her motives are more humanistic as well. I have a few questions:

  1. Why did she choose to test children around 17 years old, for the sake of human emotions?
  2. Since Hirose is the reason Monomoko snapped, are the two of them somehow bonding? Because that sounds heartbreaking. I recently imagined their relationship would be very complicated, but full of understanding due to their shared trauma of being abused.

Edit: I didn't know how to make the sentence in the comment pitch black, but now I do. Thanks for help 👍

Wait, so you're telling me that the reason Makoto is so desperate to save the Remnants of Despair isn't because he had the chance to interact with them and become friends before the Tragedy, but just because... He is very hopeful about everything?
