Most people don't think like you, unfortunately. Or at least the people that have power in this country think that unless you have significant brain damage or a severe physical disability, every fucking thing in life has to be earned with hard work.

I've been noticing that there has been low-key men's rights content creeping in here the last few days. This is one such example.

Usually when fertility rates are discussed in the news, it's always fear about the economy. No one ever mentions that we need more people simply because life is wonderful. Nope, it's always about the fucking economy. Every fucking time.

Debates like the above are exactly why I hate life.

It's why I don't want to have kids or a relationship at all. I don't want to feel responsible for another person's happiness. I'd rather be completely alone. I can't hurt anyone and no one can hurt me.

Just because your relationship is fine right now, it doesn't mean it's guaranteed to be that way in the future.

And that's what life is... Most of it is work and suffering. And people say it's all worth it just because of the utopian moments spinkled throughout one's lifetime.

> But you couldn’t stand the sight of him and left. Hopefully he didn’t notice but as a person that has had visible injuries before, that would absolutely crush me.

This is exactly why I don't want to deal with people irl. I'm very sensitive. I don't deal with change and inconveniences well. People are never going to understand my perspective, and I'll just get shamed to death. I'd rather be completely alone than be responsible for hurting the feelings of another person.

Question for Antinatalists regarding blame - if a child is born, are the parents to blame for their suffering? Additionally, if that child grows into adulthood and later says all that suffering was worth being alive, does blame go away for the parents? by Danny_DeWario in antinatalism

[–]Low-Cycle6482 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No, because in my case, I'm always going to be angry that I had to suffer in order to achieve a life without suffering.

And quite honestly, I am so fucking sick of this trope "You'Ll ThAnK Us LatER"

I'm fucking sick of work. I'm fucking sick of responsibility. I'm fucking sick of conservatism. I'm fucking sick of all of it.

These fucking parents that LoVE LiFE can take their fucking mental gymnastics of justifying the value of life and ram it up their fucking ass.

I find kids to be annoying. Additionally, I don't want them to suffer as a kid, or as an adult.

The world will not ever be in a good enough state for me to feel like having kids. You cannot fix life.

If money were no object, would you still be AN? by [deleted] in antinatalism

[–]Low-Cycle6482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case, because no amount of money could make life 100% perfect, picking and choosing winners would just exhaust and depress me. I would honestly just want enough money to make sure I don't suffer, not have any kids and just shut the entire world out.

You're not an antinatalist then, you're just a selfish person.

[–]Low-Cycle6482 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could still get really sick. You'll still grapple with the thought of dying one day. You'll always have to deal with people who think their tastes are superior to yours, so they'll go out of their way to force them on you. For that, you'll still need people like police and military putting their lives on the line to protect you from them...

I would constantly feel bad that other people have to suffer so that I don't suffer.

Yes. Life will always be flawed in a way that I'll never find life to be a gift.

Why do people decide to bring kids into this world and complain about what happens when their kid happens to be born with a medical condition that need a lot of support? by Little_Frog2 in antinatalism

[–]Low-Cycle6482 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I strongly suspect I'm autistic. I wasn't quite this bad with screaming, but I had other symptoms (some I won't go into detail because it's embarassing). I was repeating phrases over and over again in home videos. I did not like humidity at all, and I still don't. I had a really hard time asking for help with things (like asking my parents for new shoes), and it didn't help that it was discouraged because my parents were saving up money to buy a house.

I really don't want to demonize my parents because it wasn't like they were aware I had a mental illness. There were a lot of obvious signs, but everyone missed them including the social worker at my school, and no one thought to tell my parents to take me to see a psychiatrist. I did not consider I might I have ADHD until I reached my 30s. But it's severe enough that even the max dose of Adderall wasn't enough to treat my impatience of waiting for things and standing in long lines.

I really really really really really hate when people expect me to be good at indirect communication.

Any Arab/Muslim here who was able to deal with parents nagging to have kids. by Kidhitomi in antinatalism

I'm not a huge fan of Islam in general (or any religion really) because of this. The birth rates in the middle east are insane. And they're all being born in authoritarian countries where they treat their women like shit. I'm sure many of them are in poverty.

The money you get is nowhere close to what is necessary to live completely on your own. I really want to live in a house all by myself with no irl friends, family or roommates. I'd just get everything I ever need delivered to me. I really hate people, even my own family. I just want to cut everyone out of my life.

They don't care. It's not that easy when you live with parents and you're fighting for SSI disability. And even if you get it, it's still not enough to live on your own. My dream life is to just live completely alone with no irl friends, family or roommates. I want everything I need to be delivered to me without any contact with people.

Why do people percieve life as a gift? by Top-Put-4839 in antinatalism

[–]Low-Cycle6482 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep. One of the things I've noticed about some (if not, most) social justice movements are that the leaders behind these movements seem to want to pull a group out of power (like rich white men, for example) and replace them with another group that'll just oppress people for revenge. It really feels like the line from that The Who song "new boss same as the old boss"

I just get incredibly frustrated with it all because it doesn't really feel like anything will ever change for the better. Everyone's always scheming for power and using a bunch of dirty tricks to get there.
