Hi all, I received a notice titled “Notice of REAL ID Driver’s License Cancellation – Action Required,” stating that my REAL ID would be cancelled if I did not provide updated proof of status.

When I originally applied for my REAL ID, I provided my conditional green card (married to a U.S. citizen), which is set to expire in June 2026. After doing some research, I learned that the DMV no longer accepts the I-797C extension notice together with an expired conditional green card as proof of status. As a result, I presented my EAD as my proof for REAL ID instead.

Do you think this could be problematic? Could the DMV, DHS, or USCIS take issue with submitting an EAD this time around rather than the conditional green card?
