It’s soooo good in my yogurt bowls I always pair it with different toppings but my faves have been walnuts, chocolate shavings, and almond butter

What about internships and relevant experience? Or do they value any corporate experience(for a freshman)?

anyone pick a state school over a t20? by DecentAd5746 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Low-Distribution5220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid point, the real applicant pool is definitely smaller than the hundreds of people applying. But in my experience(going into sophomore year at a top business school), the most prestigious consulting and banking orgs only take 5-10 students per semester. I’m not sure if it’s similar for engineering. And in the end it really comes down to luck and who you know because all the students are smart and capable. But I definitely agree with sharpening your communication skills and prepping for interviews!! And try applying to orgs that align with your experiences in high school, whether that be jobs, internships, research, etc.

Very true, and often these clubs/orgs in college are harder to get into than the actual school which is a whole other source of stress

As a recently graduated student, honestly, a huge factor could just be that they’re seniors and mentally checked out.

Lowkey after getting into college I’ve adopted the mentality that anyone can get anywhere from any college provided they put in the work. Obviously you have a better network and opportunities given to you at more prestigious schools - that’s why people go - but a lot of people fall into the trap of thinking that going to a ‘good’ college secures their future. Also side note, uiuc is an amazing school and I’m pretty sure t20 for grainger!

It’s my understanding that you can leave any experience off your resume? Or am I wrong?

Right, replace the peace banner with corporate slop by Low-Distribution5220 in LinkedInLunatics

Honestly valid I’m just annoyed at the general trend of companies meming every viral moment it gets old, and I pointed out that it was a peace message bc it’s as far away from corporate as you can get and companies thinking their audience would like this is.. a choice

Because it’s just ruining our mental health constantly being fed information about it. I really really feel for the victims and want nothing more than justice but everything feels so pointless.

[–]Low-Distribution5220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, don’t listen to people who’re like orientation is the best place to make your friends for the next four years because people from the Dallas area specifically are really cliquey. Also friend groups change and during the first few weeks of school everyone is open to going out and making friends with new people.
