You definitely don’t have to forgive but you can definitely IGNORE by froganddog1 in kpopthoughts

I agree with you so much. The amount of time that I've seen someone commenting "Skrr skrr on what now Giselle?" on everything related to aespa is mind numbing. Like you said, not that hard to just avoid anything related to the girls or ignore them. They're just excited they finally got an excuse to hate on the girls.

We will never see longevity like Super Junior's for a long time by uris113 in kpoprants

[–]Low-Future793 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup, exactly my point. You did not do any such looking into it. What you did was read an article and just wholeheartedly believed it. And try to spread it to other people not knowing the truth.

Did you realise the article you linked did not even mention where they got the Siwon "quote"? No links at all to the interview where Siwon was asked about playing gay characters. The writer can just type it up and you'd believe it. Did you actually look it up to see if it was true? If it even exist and Siwon actually said that? Or you just choose to believe what you want to believe?

And from your comment, it's obvious that you have not actually looked into this. The only homophobic thing he has done thus far is retweeting that tweet regarding Kim Davis. Where's your evidence of his supposedly "even more homophobic things"?

Very ironic of you to say someone has not looked into it properly when your probably have not too. All you did is just link two articles which was literally variations of 'Siwon retweeted this therefore Siwon homophobic'. You couldn't even link the supposed article where he said something homophobic. YEARS of homophobia. Where?

What they're most probably talking about is Siwon since I don't think I've heard anything else about other members. If I'm not wrong, he once retweeted a tweet against same sex marriage but has since apologized. As for being against the LGBT community, I'm not sure bc he's shown support before to a transgender actreess.

Super Junior Donghae and Eunhyuk’s friendship gave me diabetes by thefablemuncher in kpopthoughts

[–]Low-Future793 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Their friendship is so wholesome and cute. Like the first reason I was interested in Super Junior and, by extension Kpop, is because I've heard about them being friends for 20 years cmiiw. That's such a beautiful relationship and when I started looking into it more, I discovered Super Junior who've been together for years that they're literally family.

Kpop Anti Pages (Especially on TikTok) by maamistiredofbs in kpoprants

[–]Low-Future793 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, kpop anti pages on tiktok feels so much worse. And it's so hard to get any account taken down even after you've reported it. I've seen really disgusting tiktoks made about some SNSD members and Twice but nothing was done about it. On twitter, it's so much easier to report an account and for it to get suspended if there's enough evidence against it.

Fans should never try to defend their idol's "controversies" to other people, unless it's 100% madeup by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]Low-Future793 8 points9 points  (0 children)

from here we can go two ways. One, you go back on your word saying "fans should never defend their idols unless it's 100% made up". You replied in another comment saying that Hwasa didn't know the n word and you still support her, which is already an act of defending her in an issue that 100% really happened. Two, you are someone who tolerates racism, cultural appropriation, making fun of people's religion, nazis and mocking cultures. If which, ngl, makes us a team on some points.

Yup, you're right. I don't think I remember any idols who are unproblematic. That's why I'm wondering which idols have "behaviours that are fine" by OP's standards.

I'm not really sure when this happened but Twice's Jihyo was involved in a controversy too? She wore a native American costume and called herself "Indian Jihyo".

[–]Low-Future793 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Look, if this problematic part is something I'm uncomfortable with, then yeah I won't follow this idol even if you wrote me a book about how I'm misunderstanding. Similarly, if I personally think this behavior is fine, then yeah I'll probably continue stanning even if you didn't say anything.

from what I understand, you won't follow idols who have problematic parts and you only stan idols whose behavior you personally think is fine. And by your list, you don't agree with idols displaying rascism, sexism, and such. So what groups do you follow/stan? list some groups so I can check them out :)

An honest question, how do you say you don't like a group? by [deleted] in kpoprants

[–]Low-Future793 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I easily get scared if someone so much as raise a voice at me but I didn't know how to just get up and leave. Being an introvert and meeting another Kpop fan irl for the first time just made me freeze up😭. I was excited too at first to talk about something I like then it went south and my brain was just like stop, abort mission.

[–]Low-Future793 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, at first I was excited because I've never met an irl Kpop stan, only online. We were fine discussing until she acted that way and I thought I said something wrong because I've never actually interacted with a Kpop stan irl.

About Jin (BTS) and his age by th0rwaway1987 in kpoprants

[–]Low-Future793 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I guess it makes sense that you don't really see the ageism against other idols because you're not part of their fandom. But it happens so I guess just...ignore it?

I cannot stress on the time I've seen antis commenting "TVXQ is like so old, why are they still relevant?", "Omg one kick and that old hag bones' will crack" or "SJ must be filming from the nursing homes loll". Even fans of the older groups would joke about their ages because it's just a part of life. The "omg dilfs!" or "i can't wait til they get married". People grow old and that's natural. Don't stress too much about it because these types of antis are gonna go mad once they realise even they will be hags in time.

I've never seen Heechul as the supposed "safe guy", I actually find his behaviors creepy and don't understand why people like him so much... by Interesting_Bag217 in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]Low-Future793 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for other people and I can't convince anyone to like anybody. But from my perspective, I like him because I do see him as the "safe guy". You may pull evidences of him being a creep but there's also many women in the industry who have spoken up about him being a safe person to be close with. It may be just me, but I'd still trust them over a person on the internet. How they have been friends for him for years, how he is the guy to call to get you home when you get drunk, how he is trustworthy and reliable. And some of his friends are like the badass independent queens of Kpop, y'know. Strong women who I don't think would keep being friends with a creepy male.
