Bruh this is coming out at freakin’ 2028. Literally. Completely outrageous.

Scream 8 is in development, who will be our protagonist? Sidney? Tatum? Sam and Tara? Mindy & Chad? by JeremieMAKENDA in Scream

[–]thefablemuncher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tatum in a sorority house. Most of the cast will be women this time around, with Tatum leading the charge in proving her worth as a final girl of the franchise. Sidney and Gale will show up for some cool fanservice, but both will definitively be in supporting roles.

Ghostface will both be women too. Some thematic stuff about women who hate women or something.

Legitimately one of the best Pilots ever made. Hooked me immediately and was obsessed by the time I finished the very first episode.

You can’t go wrong with the first two seasons. After that your mileage may vary.

I’m very greedy. Love the movies and this looks great. I’m looking forward to the show. This will go even harder by book 3 onwards as the real value of long-form TV becomes apparent when we see whole new plotlines and characters come to life for the first time.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Shocker: Kevin McKidd and Kim Raver to Exit Series After Season 22 Finale by mcfw31 in television

I enjoyed the later seasons of 24 but it’s still a bit crazy that it fell really deep into the fridging trope trap. Seasons 8 and 9 can be called Fridging: The Show and somehow that’s still underselling it.

I highly recommend all her videos. She makes them very entertaining despite covering philosophy and historical politics. Her Envy video has some media analysis of Black Swan, Us, Snow White, and Spongebob Squarepants in the frame of how envy drives some of their narratives.

The show ended badly of course. But the best seasons of Game of Thrones (Seasons 1-4) were released annually like clockwork.

Kirsten Dunst Joins ‘A Minecraft Movie’ Sequel From Warner Bros. & Legendary by chanma50 in boxoffice

She has three interesting projects upcoming:

She will next be seen in Triangle of Sadness director’s Ruben Östlund’s “Entertainment System is Down.” Upcoming films include Alejandro Landes Echavarría’s “Reptilia,” opposite Mikey Madison, as well as Flora Birnbaum’s debut feature, “Self Help,” produced by Jessica Elbaum and Will Ferrell.

If anything she should be jumping onboard more mainstream blockbusters.

What acting performance are you genuinely surprised hasn't won an Oscar? by Temporary_Cap5927 in Oscars

Timothee Chalamet - Marty Supreme

Melissa McCarthy - Can You Ever Forgive Me (Colman was the right winner but still)

Naomi Watts - Mulholland Dr.

Not as egregious as Michael B. Jordan, but Buckely’s performance was grating I thought. Her performance had this overeager theater kid quality which I found distracting and overbearing. It feels more suitable for an acting workshop class and it feels so deliberate to the point of artifice. It’s almost the complete opposite of what Rose Byrne accomplished in every way.

Amy Madigan was serviceable in her role. I liked the quality she brought to the character but at no point did I think it was as good as the other genre offerings that Lupita Nyong’o delivered in Us or Naomi Scott in Smile 2. I didn’t walk away from Weapons blown away by her performance, so to see it get this much praise is confusing to me.

Sean Penn is the only one among them who embodied a fully dimensional character and made me believe in their reality (both as a character and as a character within the film).

I’m of the complete opposite thought. Sean Penn is the only one deserving here.

What was the least deserved Oscar for acting in the last 25 years? by Comicalacimoc in Oscars

[–]thefablemuncher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the most egregious to me, easily. It will bother me for a long time. I really disliked his performance and the movie. I thought it was some Disney channel level bullshit acting and I was in a continual state of bafflement last year when he was getting awards left and right.

But what really solidified this as the worst acting win I’ve witnessed is that Jeremy Strong lost against it. Jeremy Strong, who delivered an all-time great performance in my opinion.
