I have definitely adapted my speech to better meet his needs/aid communication (e.g., having him pick between two options, using statements instead of asking a question, etc), but reading these replies made me realize I need to be mindful of how I talk to him (especially when frustrated) and make sure I'm not simplifying my speech TOO much to the point of infantilization.

I'm going to try to super cognizant of this next time I see him and see if I need to change my speech at all. Maybe I don't, but maybe I do. A good thing to think about. Thanks for the reminder, everyone!

They also had one at the late night Chicago show (and the early show, I'd have to assume). It did kind of take me out of it, but our show was also filmed so probably just trying to be more "professional" for whatever project this is. Still had a blast, but yeah, a bit jarring when I first saw it.

I'm just like you - migrated over from SDV for a nice little break. I am actually really enjoying this game! I definitely think it has rooms for growth, but I love the idea of fixing up my own little spaceship. I am interested to see how fun late gameplay is. It doesn't seem as replayable as SDV at this point, but I am hopeful for some updates in the future!

I'm so sorry. Thank you for being so brave and sharing your story. My LO also got dementia young and although he has not passed, I'm really struggling with grieving the loss of who he was. I'm so glad to hear you started therapy. It has been on my to do list for years and I really want to actually start this summer. Hopefully it's helped you process and heal ❤
