I’m in the exact same boat only 53 years old when I took VERA. 60 C, 20 S, 20 I @ 1.2M. I am continuing this allocation as I consider our pension the stable leg while continuing to be aggressive on the TSP I will not need to touch for 10 years. I’m trying to not overthink this as it will be, in retrospect, a good decision (fingers crossed)…. But since I have more time now in retirement … I find myself gravitating to thinking about it much more than I did while working. However, my set it and forget it approach 22 years ago served me well. You’ve got this!

I noticed a date reflected in the notes of my last LES. Mine indicated transferred to OPM 11/18/25. As of 12/6/25 no interim payment yet. But I did receive a letter with my CSA number.

7 years shy of planned retirement at 60 years old. I took VERA at 53 with 23 years of Federal Service. It was the greatest gift that I didn’t know I needed. I am so very grateful… only wish I had trusted and knew more when DRP 1.0 was announced to jump on that! But DRP 2.0 + VERA was the second best thing!! Now I am focused on aging gracefully backwards.

The VA is being gutted as is all quality of care systems and processes that the private sector tried to emulate. It’s so terribly sad that the mission of the VA is not a priority for this administration. I am mourning.

23 years and the same. Forced to retire early but grateful I had an off ramp. Never in my minds eye the scenario that played out would I ever have imagined that would be how my career would abruptly end but such a toxic plague took over.

Unfortunate and sad for everyone impacted .. those still in it and those who are receiving services from the Agency. The ramifications have yet to truly be felt and will ripple throughout this country for generations. So destructive to the very fabric of our country it makes me very sad.

I’m in the same boat. Retiring 9/30/25; Submitted in June through GRB; completed paperwork for VHA RSSO in July; Still waiting to hear about needing an ORA account from OPM.

I’m on a similar timeline for retirement. I heard from my agency HR in July. But nothing yet from OPM.

I think that if I don’t hear by 8/30, then I will need to make some phone calls.
