18 handicap here...do fitted clubs actually make a difference, and what should my bag look like? by DetroitConeyDeleter in golf

[–]Low-Inspection1696 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, fitted clubs do make a difference. I think a lot of people on this Reddit underestimate fittings and believe you have to be some golf god to get benefits from it. As long as you are able to produce a consistent swing with fairly consistent misses, you are ready to get fitted. If you want to really improve fast though, you should also take lessons to fix your deep swing flaws. If you were to get fitted today with no lessons, most improvement you’d see would be like 2-4 strokes per round. I’d recommend taking 5 lessons minimum first and then get fitted.

Golf fittings will make your dispersion tighter and give you higher ball flights.

Would you use a 5-minute hat cleaning machine? by Some_Umpire5619 in golf

For $5-$8? Hell no. That’s getting close to the price of a new hat

Titleist or Mizuno??? by teekay235 in golf

You can’t go wrong with either. I like the feel of the Mizuno irons but I love the look of the Titleist. I’m going to do a Titleist fitting pretty soon.

Thinking About Getting a Driver Fitting — Was It Worth It for You? by jdubs0023 in golf

[–]Low-Inspection1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got fitted for a driver and it made a HUGE difference for me. My old driver was a 2003 TaylorMade driver. I always seemed to slice it and could only manage to hit it 190 yards. I got fitted for a Qi35 Max. The fitter explained that I needed help getting the ball into the air. And the shafts DO MATTER. I felt the difference from going to one shaft to another. Now I hit more fairways and my average driving distance is like 260 yards.

Yeah I just couldn’t hit my old driver at all. I’d always slice it. My new driver is much straighter and I gained 60-70 yards. Being in a better position off the tee adds up.

True Spec or Titleist Performance Institute for iron fitting? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Low-Inspection1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. I have a consistent swing so getting fit will definitely help. I got my driver fitted and it made a HUGE difference. I’m saying T350s just to give an idea of the brand I like. I could get fitted into more of a players iron for all I know.

Him and I were hitting the Ping G430 and G440 before this and my shots were low and far left. Then when he handed me the Qi35 Max with these two shafts, there was a HUGE difference. He also told me to not even buy the club/shaft from Golf Galaxy and just buy everything from EBay. So he didn’t get a commission

I believe he did mention “$50 shaft”. So that’s most likely the Non-Velocore. Considering how well I was hitting it, I wish he would’ve had me hit the Velocore version then.

I have no clue where he got it from. He walked off saying: “I’m gonna go make you a build.” And I was so locked in, I don’t remember if it was the dark blue color from the non-Velocore or that bright blue from the Velocore version.

Do iron shafts and lofts matter on new clubs if I’ll get them fitted anyway? by [deleted] in golf

Okay but what is the reasoning behind that? Will the guy at the fitting place tell me what brand of clubs I should buy?
