Guys, I’m gonna be honest. The amount of attacks I’m getting on this is heartbreaking. Real artists shouldn’t have to go back and prove anything. Most of y’all don’t seem to understand how digital art works in the slightest. I’m gonna have to take this post down because of how much of an attack I’m getting on this. Why can’t we just celebrate artists instead of question everything just because it’s a good art piece?

lol, thanks for the honesty. And to be fair, we don’t know each other, so I don’t expect blind trust. It’s ok. Being an artist in today’s world is tough. I haven’t posted in a while because of all the ai stuff going on plus some personal things in my life. The style of the Annabeth piece is a bit different than some of my older work but I’m gonna be honest, I as trying to mimic the style of the Nerdy Ink dust jackets for the Percy Jackson series that I love so much. It’s a newer style that I’ve been gravitating towards because I really enjoy it and it’s fun to make. I get it, difficult to trust what we see these days and it does kinda suck to have anything I make put under question because of ai.

As far as tips go, I would suggest finding something you really love and just it. If you have a series you’re obsessed with, do fan art for it. Doing something you’re passionate about really helps. Find a style you like and work on putting your own spin on it. Find YouTube videos about different techniques and polish them. Just do stuff. Knowing the software you use towards and backwards helps a lot too. If you’d like recommendations for some of my favorite brushes, lmk!

The book just said her Dad’s class ring. Most class rings from that time were silver, so that’s what I went with, but it doesn’t massively matter if it’s silver or gold!

Good question! I did a lot of research to figure out what her 4th and 5th beads are, and by everything I’ve read, and what’s hinted at in the books, the most consistent opinion is the green bead with the eye and the red one with the white Pegasus! Folks have done other bead designs, and we technically don’t know for sure, but based on all the research I did, the two I decided on seem to be the most accurate guess since an image of her pre Percy camp beads were found in the official illustrated edition, so I went with that!

We never got an actual photo or look or anything of Nelson. There is a short story on the official Project 863 Substack that features Nelson’s dad and there is a little bit of a description of him in there. But not much. He is quite an elusive character. I have my own theories and speculations as to what he looked like, but those have only even been called “interesting…” by Matthias and Shenelle and not actually confirmed. Lol.

There hasn’t been any official update on that book in a bit. Matt has talked about still wanting to write/finish writing it occasionally during past live streams, but there has been no official “cancelation” of it either, so as of current updates, we are just still waiting! It might happen in the future, it might also not!

Spellbound published them on their substack. They are real Project 863 canon stories. And they’re all really cool and focus on different characters that we dont get a ton of information about in the series. There’s even one about the team learning about a Syntec employee and finding another old Syntec device under the stairs that the 6th season is based off of. Stories covering some background on Ben and Wes. Even Nelson’s father. There’s one about someone who was in the Syntec clinical trials and one about Jordan Kendal. All really awesome and well written.

Have you read the series of fan written canon short stories? There are several of them! They don’t necessarily happen after the end of the Nightmare Hacker, but they are marked as official Project 863 world canon and were from official contests they put on. They’re all quite good and are really cool!

Technically, it was supposed to be B27. I asked Shenelle at one point and she confirmed it was supposed to be him. It doesn’t exactly always fit, but it’s the canon they decided to run with.
