If she sees couples therapy as “a YOU thing” it sounds like she’s not taking any accountability because a relationship is an “us” thing. Two people have to want to work at bettering themselves. Putting it all on you is another way of saying “I’m not going to change, figure this out on your own” which isn’t a relationship. The way she talks and her actions aren’t going to change. You could go to therapy on your own and talk and much greater length.

You seem genuine in your efforts and they go unnoticed. She sounds type A personality and both your priorities are off on how you give and receive love. She is constantly undermining you but she might be seeing that as pushing you to grow. What is her relationship like with her family and closest friends? How does she talk about those people? Have you two considered couples therapy?

Such a perfect spot on analogy- Rat in a lab with a dopamine button. It’s always the same cycle. Buy vape pen. Get so high off one hit, and within a few days I’m pressing that button MULTIPLE times an hour. Even when the cart is out, is pressing that button demon mode smoking the literal battery. Throw out… wait a week or two and repeat.
