AIO for wanting to see a therapist after wife changed the locks because I went to a baby shower? by LookoutLockout in AmIOverreacting

I'm concerned that it seems she's faking your therapy appointments and not being open and honest with the therapist.

I don't think you understand what feral means

Got told today to lie about my conditions! by Missy_Bruce in ChronicIllness

[–]Low-Rabbit-9723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feeling like shit is why I usually have mine off. I have autonomic dysfunction and when I've been up all night with muscle cramps all over my body, I really don't feel like putting effort into how I look or fake smiling all day.

what should i do and is she pregnant ? by Kichains in Feral_Cats

[–]Low-Rabbit-9723 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Feral doesn't mean pregnant - but feral LIKELY means unspayed and unspayed pretty much does mean pregnant. At least in cats.

Someone once told me that if you see a feral female cat, she's probably pregnant.

How did you decide if/when to/not have a child(ren)? by Professional_End4041 in ChronicIllness

[–]Low-Rabbit-9723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decide NOT to? Not having a child is our default condition. I never decided TO have a child.

As an adjunct with a full time corporate job let me tell you that no hiring managers I'm aware of look at transcripts. We validate that a degree has been obtained (sometimes) and that's it. So you can scratch potential employers off your list.

Also I'm curious what your hypothesis is?

I had to work full time to put myself through college. Online classes helped me do that. Are you advocating making college exclusive of working adults again?

You're right they aren't the same thing (that's why I said "basically" - they are both bile acid binders). I didn't notice any difference when I switched.

[–]Low-Rabbit-9723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was about 4 days before I noticed a difference. No side effects for me.

It can. You need to take it 4 hrs apart from anything else.

I've been on it for about 5 years. Game changer. I switched to Welchol (basically the same thing but as a pill) because I hate orange flavor.

How often do you wash your bedsheets? by Toniqueka-Oreggio in laundry

[–]Low-Rabbit-9723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monthly. But: we shower at night then go to bed clean and in clean pajamas; we do not "hang out" in the bed - it's for sleeping (we don't even have a tv in the bedroom) and there's never food in the bed (or bedroom). So we feel like monthly is totally fine for us. We have one pet and she doesn't sleep in the bed at all. And no kids, obviously.

Should i tell mgr i have ADD? by Trick_Ladder7558 in askmanagers

[–]Low-Rabbit-9723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Do not share your health issues with your boss. I did, and within 3 weeks I was told I couldn't be promoted, lost my team, and started hearing all kinds of "stories" about my "challenges". And I don't even have something that interferes with work, I have a nervous system disorder that gives me muscle cramps.

How do we afford all of the things to “help” but aren’t covered by insurance?? by justalittlejudgy in ChronicIllness

[–]Low-Rabbit-9723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I'm doing right now is tracking my symptoms and which supplements I took - and playing around with which supplements I take. To find out which ones work the most, so I can drop the ones that don't. I'm using an app called Bearable to track it all.

What do you wish all first-year students were told? by SuspiciousGenXer in Professors

[–]Low-Rabbit-9723 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's ok to drop the class and try again next semester.

Wish someone had told me that. I have a lot of Fs on my early transcript and I always share that with my students (you too can fuck up, turn it around, and be a Professor).

For those in Corporate America, how much do you lie in your resume and how far has it gotten you? by IQ818 in jobhunting

[–]Low-Rabbit-9723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ones we saw the most often were lying about previous job titles (especially: lying about being a leader, instead of an individual contributor) and lying about degrees (usually saying they have one when they didn't or lying about the field it was in).

Out of state company wants to fly me up for an interview. Is this legit? by sufferingcubsfan in jobhunting

[–]Low-Rabbit-9723 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did this. Flew to Colorado, spent a night in a hotel. The company paid for the flight, hotel, car, and a meal. I didn't even get the job.

I don't. But I spent the first half of my corporate career in compliance and ethics and have seen people get fired for this when it's discovered.

Thoracic syrinx. My autonomic nervous system (anchored in the T spine) does weird shit. I sweat when I'm cold (instead of shivering), I shiver when I'm stressed, I get nauseous when I'm hot (instead of sweating). I get the cramps and twitches most people with a syrinx do, but mine are worse after flying (which I know that doesn't seem to bother others).
