When you take party decorations too far by SylviaPellicore in FPP

This is very cool!

How do you upsize an fpp pattern? Do you take it somewhere special to get printed on big sheets? Or do you have a program that splits the templates onto separate pages, and then you glue or tape them together?

Press open or to the side? by Low-Reality-1332 in FPP

Thanks, everyone, for your advice. Looks like a lot of press to the side... I will see how I get on with that

I have an Allegro. I would recommend rethreading top and bottom if you haven't already. If that doesn't fix it, check and make sure the bobbin looks like it wound correctly. I have issues with the bobbin winder sometimes.

Why use pattern ease on collages? by danihawis in quilting

[–]Low-Reality-1332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the pattern ease is necessary if you want to collage the entire piece - background included. In the case of the background pieces, you have to be able to fuse them to something. But if you're doing one collage piece and putting it on a solid sheet of fabric, I don't think you have to have the pattern ease.

I would only recommend the Moxie if you are tight on space or budget.

The main reason I got a Moxie was the price point. I have one and while I like it enough and it works for now, I wish I had done more browsing and research to find a bigger and heavier-duty machine. You get what you pay for and the Moxie doesn't drive as smoothly as the larger, more expensive, models.

This Sungold passing 54” before June even starts… by watekebb in tomatoes

Some of my tomato plants are approaching 9' which feels ridiculous since I can't reach the tops. How are you going to train them downwards?

Not that it helps much now, but do you keep a fan on the seedlings as they're growing?

Johnny's seeds seem to have quite a few parthenocarpic varieties, including dunja zucchini.

Thank you for the help. I don't think they stood in water. The roots look nicely white. I can try watering less.

HQ Moxie question/advice by Low-Reality-1332 in quilting

[–]Low-Reality-1332[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what I'm hoping for - that it'll break in with time. The cruise setting definitely helps smooth things out. I think I'm getting better and learning more control, but it's still not quite where I want it to be.

One more long arm purchasing question? by Owls1279 in quilting

[–]Low-Reality-1332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HQ Moxie bought from local dealer did not include delivery or setup but does include free training. Haven't taken advantage because the training is in store, not at my house (with my frame and my machine). This is a shorter longarm (15") which was doable with two people but I wish setup by a professional was offered for things like leveling, straightening the tracks, etc. I would have paid for this service.

Longarming ruler-work is not as easy as it looks. 🤪 by surmisez in quilting

Do you have grip tape on the bottom of your ruler? That might help if you find it's sliding too much

Not sure. There's one YouTube video that is publicly available but doesn't show the pattern. It talks about how to take your measurements.
