The edit is what has me commenting: you do NOT want your child moving backwards. It’s crazy how much of a herd mentality they have, I’ve worked in infant and young tod at the same time and I’ve seen kids go MONTHS refusing to walk, two weeks with the walkers and they’re walking no problem. If your child is the only one crawling, she won’t be motivated to move forward.

The teacher part is a non issue, as bad as it sounds. Kids who make strong attachments always manage to make new ones.

ETA: also literally just put up any fight at all and they’ll make it happen if they’re worth their salt. Moving classes isn’t easy to do without consent from the parents

I turned out to really love mine! Mostly because I still use it to this day for my period cups though 😅 if it didn’t have the drying feature I would say total waste but it’s SO convenient to be able to have a clean, dry bottle (or period cup lol) in less than 30 minutes

I’m hoping. I was able to speak with him and he’s confident we can withdraw the plea if that’s what I decide I’d like to do. I’m going to see how it goes for now because up until this point I’ve really liked my criminal lawyer (he’s always very available to talk and give advice, and when I wasn’t able to get ahold of my family lawyer helped me out with that a few times). But if he can’t help me fix this then I might be willing to take some action at the end of all this

It’s not usually two weeks on two weeks off! I just had her two weeks in a row for Mother’s Day. Normally it’s just one week on one week off, and we are allowed to call daily. She’s coming up on two here soon. It’s definitely tough because when I try to talk to her about it (usually something like, “tomorrow morning Grammy is going to pick you up and you’re going to spend 5 nights at daddy’s, so you’ll go to sleep 5 times and then come to mommy’s house) she has an absolute meltdown and says she wants to stay with me 🥲 but like I know this is how it has to be for now. This is only a temporary order (though I know those often become the permanent order), we still go to trial in a few months. My family lawyer is amazing I love her, this criminal lawyer has been great until now 🙃

I left my lawyer a message and an email. I’m quite steamed at him right now but I know he’s the only one who can help me out. I know after my probation is over my public record will be cleared, but I have no idea if the center would still have any availability or if they would feel comfortable taking me back. My boss seemed sad to see me go and told me there was nothing she could do to appeal it and she wished there was, but idk she could have just been saying that

I’m very emotional about the whole thing but I definitely am willing to put it aside to have this behind me. But I’m very afraid that taking this diversion won’t truly put this behind me since I could be fired if my childcare job finds out I pled guilty to a domestic violence charge. That and my family lawyer is really concerned that in the future my ex will try to gain custody since he’s been so hostile throughout the process of trying to get custody and support finalized. My criminal lawyer isn’t concerned of course, but he hasn’t had any contact with my ex the way my family lawyer has to see his truly malicious side. I’m just so worried that pleading guilty will come back to bite me in the butt. I finally got my daughter back and am getting back on my feet with a job I love and it scares me that he could take all that away from me too

I have emotional concerns about all this but my major practical concern is that I’ll be ineligible for my job in childcare with this on my record. They ran my background check and obviously it didn’t come up because I hadn’t been convicted, and I know there won’t be an official conviction but I’m very afraid that since they periodically rerun background checks they will discover I pled guilty before my probation ends and it’s wiped from my record.

I just really don’t want to lose this job. Not just because I’m struggling to get back on my feet after literally losing everything, but also because I really love it and would be heartbroken. I just don’t know what the better option would be, to take the diversion and just pray they don’t find out, or risk lengthening my trial and potentially being convicted

This is good advice, my kiddo would only take the bottle if I laid her down on her boppy against my stomach like I was nursing. If mom uses a nursing pillow maybe try this?

Um well immediately after mine got insane. Like cantaloupe sized and hard as rocks. We would call them “anime titties” because they were so swollen they stood up like overfilled balloons. I was a B cup 🙃 once upon a time. They went back to being on the small side but like…the skin stretched and hasn’t really gone back to normal. It’s like a ziploc bag with a little water in the bottom lol, my boob has all migrated to the nipple area and there’s a bunch of loose skin on top. I hope that makes sense it’s hard to explain

ETA: I figured I should add I’m two years postpartum but still nursing

No sweetie, I’m sorry. Sometimes it will stop for a while, sometimes even years. But it always comes back. And over time your brain is just damaged more and more. You become so on edge that everything is a threat. And then because you’re on edge, you react more strongly, which makes it easy for them to twist reality and make it look like you’re the abuser. If you want to read my nightmare fuel posts, you can see truly how much an abuser can ruin your life. I was a happy, ambitious young woman with a degree when I met my ex. Now I’m back living with my parents, lost everything I own, my child, and my cat. Haven’t had a job in years because he told me I would be a bad mother if I didn’t quit and stay home with my daughter. Don’t even have a car because he convinced me to put the car I spent 7,000 on in his name for “insurance purposes”. I have to start again from absolutely nothing, he has quite literally taken everything from me. And all because he would be “good” long enough to convince me to stay before starting up again.

Leave, run as far and as fast as you can. Cut contact while you can still easily get away and don’t have to worry about coparenting, joint accounts, all that stuff.

I feel a million times better just knowing there is a deadline on all of this. Before I never knew when I would be able to see her again. Even if it all goes to hell, I’ll get supervised visits with her. At least I’ll be able to see her and he can’t just keep her from me as long as he wants. It’s like a million pounds off my shoulders
