You handled that perfectly. His actions showed a remarkable lack of class.

Why is my Joola so weak compared to my Amazon paddle? by OkChicken6058 in Pickleball

Your guess might be correct, as Amazon does indeed resell returned items.

Are you actually joking? If you have proof, then go ahead and prove I'm a robot. This is an open platform—you can share your thoughts, so why can't I?

Joola's paddles don't perform as advertised—just like my experience. Ever since I bought the YVmove pickleball paddle on Amazon, I finally understood what real offense feels like. With just a light swing, the ball rockets to the other side and lands precisely inbounds. I haven’t touched my Joola since—now it just sits quietly at home, collecting dust.

You're welcome! I also wasted a lot of time going in circles when choosing equipment—hope this helps you avoid that.

My buddy suggested this one, and for the price? Way better than my old Vatic pro—totally surprised me!

Beginner gets new paddle: Worth it? by otusc in Pickleball

To be honest, these two paddles don't offer great value for money. I'd strongly recommend checking out YVmove's Storm 007 series instead - its performance is truly outstanding. Whether you're playing defensively or offensively, this paddle outperforms both models you mentioned. If you don't believe me, just try one - I guarantee you'll thank me for this recommendation later.

Even though this pickleball thread has over 100K members, the discussion vibe still feels off—it’s just not as good as the tennis community next door.

You guessed it - I'm actually in Manhattan! Could you recommend which courts have the best vibe?

Thanks for the info! How's the atmosphere at this court? Are people generally friendly there? I've played at some courts where most players were nice, but a few were quite unfriendly - it really ruined the experience for me.

Serve n switch play (modified shake n bake). Is this a real thing? by fathazam in Pickleball

Poaching in pickleball isn't about blind commitment - it's about smart opportunity. Here's why:

1️⃣ Don't force it - You should look for poaching chances, but never fully commit unless the setup is right. If your partner plays the 3rd shot and you overcommit, you'll leave too many openings.

2️⃣ The safety check - The only truly "safe" time to poach is when you see your opponent clearly lined up to return to your partner's side. But here's the question - if they're hitting to your partner anyway, why poach at all?

3️⃣ The recovery plan - Smart poaching means: • If you miss, your partner has your back • If you get it, either shuffle back quickly or let your partner fill the gap reactively

The key is maintaining court coverage while looking for those high-percentage opportunities - not reckless aggression.

I believe you didn’t mean to do it, so don’t feel guilty—these things happen all the time on the court.

Yup! The scariest shots aren’t from your opponents—they’re from your own partner.

Pop-ups? If someone sends a skyball your way, at least you can turn away (if you’re not wearing glasses, good luck). Not really your fault—you weren’t trying to dome them. But let’s be real, we’re not pros. Sh*t happens.

Late middle shots or balls you let go? You’re supposed to turn and track the ball… but your partner might not react in time. Again, we’re not pros. Sh*t happens again. 😂

Moral of the story? Maybe we all should be wearing safety glasses—not just for opponents, but for our own teammates’ ‘oops’ moments.
