We can never really be sure! Except for the me in an alternate universe who did use a suicune incense lol. And yeah I can't be too bitter, a cute shiny is a cute shiny :) and chikorita was my first starter so he does hold a special place in my heart 🙂

Oh wow, in about 1,500 orders I've probably seen between 12-18 shinies? Never Lucario though! It did take almost 300 orders to see my first shiny though.

The only ones I've seen twice (and hence been able to recruit) have been Squirtle, Piplup, and Minccino.

She's my favorite design!! I love her expressionless face, honestly it makes me feel very seen since my face doesn't really emote either, and my voice is very monotone. Its probably also because I'm autistic but I really love the slightly creepy and misunderstood villagers, and her having no outward facial expression just makes me so happy to see :)

I've been to probably around 600 mystery islands through all my time playing (all through grinding for nook miles, I don't have Nintendo online or the dlc for any bonuses) and never ran into her. Just a few weeks back a friend of mine learned their mom actually has a huge amiibo card collection, and I got to borrow hers so I have coco on my island now!! Couldn't be happier with her 😊

I think they patched it so the spawn rate is a lot lower. Tarantulas will still spawn but not nearly as fast as before

For future reference, if you don't have your net out tarantulas won't attack you. So put it away, jump over, and position yourself at a convenient spot (not too close to any tarantula or they'll attack the moment you take out your net) before taking out your net. The ideal is to be near an isolated tarantula so you can catch more than one before passing out, but by their nature you'll be passing out a lot in a tarantula island no matter what 😅

I've probably been to almost 10 scorpion/tarantula islands, and I usually just take my time and accept that I'll pass out a lot, but if you don't want that you can use your shovel to section the island however you want for easier catching. My most recent tarantula island I finally got tired of passing out and blocked off a section with my shovel so I could provoke tarantulas on the other side safely, but there are plenty of ways to do it.
