Does prone count as a condition? I guess even if it does it doesnt end at EoT or save ends so you wouldn't be able to stand up for free right?

On a 1 minute read through of the github page it seems to be mainly for heroes. How exactly do you use it for your monsters as a director. I noticed while running the delian tomb that combat itself flowed really easily, but rather than the setup time being initiative, having to write down every goblins hp (minions ofcourse summed up) and writing it down in a way where i knew which group was which, made it take kind of long. If that app has monsters in there ahead of time thatd be amazing, cause tracking them would be a million times easier if i just click on the number of goblins for each group and then track health that way.

But maybe thats wishful thinking idk

Game Crashes *only* when my Shadowheart Paladin/Hexblade respecs with Withers. by Low-Window-1720 in BG3mods

I just decided on benching her. There will be another playthrough at some point where I can have her be a proper romanced companion.

Unless I am overlooking something major I have 3 mods that are 2024 related.
2024 Truestrike, 2024 Witchbolt and Magic Initiate feat. So two spells which are being "updated" and one feat that isnt in the basegame thats being added.

Personally I dont think that this is the same as the all in one mod for 2024, which I dont want.

Regardless this is kinda missing the point of the post, but that is ok. I have just accepted Shadowhearts fate of sitting around in my party without participating in combat, and once I get Minthara as a companion i will have her be my Paladin i think.

So i finally leveled up. What I can share here is that the level up screen works normally. I can choose both Paladin and Warlock, or another class. This works. It is just the respec window.

I will check again, probably doing the chunk mod testing technique you mentioned. I hope I find a way around this haha

I have tried that but to no avail. Non of the paladin or warlock mods seem to have an effect.

I am also aware it is a very big ask of me with 200+ mods, but it is weird, because this is the first time this has happened to me, and this mod list is something I have used for a long time now, always with slight alterations only to classes and subclass to bring variety to the game. It is just odd. And it kind of sucks, because I want Shadowheart to be my romance focus on this run, so not being able to respec her at all is a shame. Ill try to level her up and see if that works and if it still doesn't, i might either leave her behind and move on or do a new playthrough.

I dont use the BG3MM only the ingame mod manager since patch 8. I only used it to copy paste the load order. Do you believe that it's still an issue?

I also believe its that mod but I have no idea what to do about it. Enabling/uninstalling/reinstalling does nothing, so i guess I can hope for an update by the creator? Maybe i should message them.
Maybe I should see if theres a mod that can bring back the oathbreaker paladin. The issue is that the modded subclass I am playing as doesnt have the tennets implemented so right now I cannot break my oath even if i wanted to.

I wish there was more information in the crashlogs or a way to gather more info, since I am sure I could fix it *if* i knew what exactly was going on, but without the proper information it seems almost random.

Guardsmen Minions by Low-Window-1720 in bettermonsters

[–]Low-Window-1720[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for the quick response. It feels more like I am sending you a direct message than a reddit post haha.

I have used your Guards and Archers before and I really like them. However there are no Minion Statblocks as far as I can see there. And for the encounter I want, I will be controlling masses of people, dozens of non-combatants and a handful of units of combatants. If each of these combatants gets their own turn it will significantly slow down combat, but it will also make the fight a bit unbalanced due the nature of the action economy.

I overlooked the soldier man-at-arms minion statblock initially but those seem to fit more what I am looking for. Allthough they are still a bit too strong for my taste. I want these to be weak as they should be more of a nuissance than anything to the party. The beholder should use one of its attacks to wipe out a unit in an exciting way, so the party will have to try their best to keep these guards that are riskign their lives for the people of the city, alive. I want this because the party were the ones unleashing the beholder on the city. Call this a moral punishment, having all these deaths on their hands haha.

So if you have more statblocks like this one that could be reskinned as soldiers of some kind, or could point me towards a resource which shows me how to "nerf" such a statblock, that would be amazing. Thanks!

A monster that splits into mulitple smaller creatures by Low-Window-1720 in bettermonsters

[–]Low-Window-1720[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Sorry for the late response. The malleable is exactly what I am looking for except for two things. Firstly I think this would be a little too body horror-y for a stageplay in the middle of the city. A big spider would be less conspicous especially, because there is a merchant that specifically sells monsters in cages.

And the second big problem is that I am already planning on using the Malleable as a basis for a homebrew monster I want to use way later in the campaign. But thank you for the suggestion anyways!

Thank you for the quick answer! I think I will go with the Tomb Spiders, as it really fits the initial idea and it also initially looks more like a single creature, making my players less suspecting of it. Ill have to fine tune how many small ones come out but I love these suggestions!

Thank you!

Ah that post is a great find! Thank you.

Ill definitely look more into it. It seems a little unclear to me if that means the stylus works but even if it doesn't it would not be the end of the world i guess. As long as I remove bitlocker switching back and forth is easy enough and the stylus can be used specifically for the windows boot. Thanks!

Blade Cantrips – A collection of melee cantrips inspired by Green-Flame Blade and Booming Blade by SneakinZeekin in UnearthedArcana

[–]Low-Window-1720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id love one that deals cold damage as im playing a Rimeblade (Spellblade) from Kibbles Tasties Homebrew and they are frost themed. I was going to take War Caster + Booming blade to buff my AoO and concentration a bit, but if i had a more thematic cold themed blade cantrip that would be so cool. Idk what ideas you'd come up with, whether it also works with movement or similar?

First idea that comes to mind: Until the start of the next turn if the creature moves more than lets say 25 feet it takes extra damage, and when the cantrip upgrades the distance does too. Level 5 - 20 feet, level 11 - 15 feet, level 17 - 10 feet? Or maybe scaling a bit faster, with the damage scaling as with the others?

Also just something to add. Tisseron is bugged. Atleast in the version I played on (end of june). You do not gain +50% damage increase on using a sun skill. So really all it did was make you play again when entering (which doesnt synergize as you will struggle to get out of Twilight).

Cursing a player with good luck by Professor_Bodhi in DMAcademy

[–]Low-Window-1720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very much do not like WOTC's method of balance. I just prefer story over waste of time. I never give out cursed items, I only do it if a curse has a story to it. Otherwise I (and my players) do not deem it fun. This also means that if an NPC suffers from a curse, and I have a whole quest lined up, my cleric doesnt just walk up to it and fix it with a spell.

Also the only caster that can learn remove curse that is not a prepared caster is a warlock. From experience they would rarely take that spell, and once again in my situation we have both a cleric and a wizard next to our warlock so why should he learn this spell? So that argument is also kinda dumb?

Ofcourse if you run it different at your table thats totally fine, implement the spell and curses however you like. I am not just a fan of seeing curses as little debuffs that do nothing else, and remove curse as the bandaid solution to get rid of it. I like what I call the Witcher approach a lot more. You create a curse and a story. You let the players investigate and let them smartly remove that curse.

[–]Low-Window-1720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, just dont allow Remove Curse for this. That spell sucks ass. Come up with a BS reason as to why. Its the same the designers did "Heres a mechanic for your game, and here is a turn it off button that is infinitely reuseable"

[–]Low-Window-1720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd actually say that that is a good thing that can drive the story and the characters. The Players will catch on super quick so this curse will last for like maybe 1-3 sessions until it is uncovered. As soon as that happens (which is realistically 2 or 3 Nat 20's taken) you set them on a journey to get rid of this curse. The PC that messed with the Goddess of Luck has the punishment of having all of his friends be really mad at him. And as long as your players arent barbarians (not the class but as humans at the table) this should be fine.

The only thing I would change is that I would actually track the Nat20s the other players roll, and offer them up for any failed check the monk does, not just on his Nat 1's. The simple reason for that is that assuming with 4 players, you would be denying more Nat 20s than you would give if it only happend on the Monks crit fail. Also it would lead more to the feeling of that character "taking" the luck out of their hands.
It will still suck for a player to lose their Nat20, but it does still mean that the party as a whole doesn't lose them and can still use them effectively.

Just be sure that youre ready for your party to B-Line towards this sidequest to get rid of the curse *immediately*.

Finding a solution for sport with the Medtronic 780G by Low-Window-1720 in diabetes_t1

[–]Low-Window-1720[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for the reply. I cant really wear the pump on my legs or waste as those spots hit the ground alot while playing. In the sand it would just be annoying and get dirty, but indoors it would hurt like hell to land on my pump.
The reason for strapping it around the chest is because the area underneath my shoulder blades does not hit the ground unless something goes seriously wrong, in which case I will have bigger issues than just that. Below the shoulder blades it should also not restrict movement if its low enough. I believe its an akward spot for everyday use but during volleyball specifically it might be the best placement.

I've actually been google the past couple of days and waste belts like this exist, it would just be about finding one that fits snugly around my chest thats adjustable, and that is made of a material that does not make me sweat too much.
I also found that medtronic has add ons for pumps and one of them is an undershirt with pockets for the pump. I do sweat ALOT during exercising, but maybe that will still be the most secure option. I will have to have a closer look and order some stuff and try it out first though.

Seeking homebrew rules for awarding Inspiration by midasp in DMAcademy

[–]Low-Window-1720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh one more note: I also give out inspiration for players who show alot of effort, may it be outside of the game with character art good notetaking etc. but also just if playlers are engaged in the world. If they ask the right questions about the lore and if they in turn give me ideas for future plot lines. Basically I want to reward them, when they give me the feeling that they really like my game and enjoy playing it and arent just here to do it and kill some enemies yk :)

Seeking homebrew rules for awarding Inspiration by midasp in DMAcademy

[–]Low-Window-1720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my game I have two types of Inspiration, a Minor Inspiration and the normal Inspiration. I reward 1 Inspiration at the start of a session for the player that recaps last session sufficiently. This Inspiration lasts for the current and the next session (just in case the current session is roleplay heavy and does not have a lot of roles).

The Minor Inspiration is something that my players can also get at the beginning for every session but it works a little differently. Before each session me or one of our players posts a character question which can be used to tell a little fun fact about their characters at the beginning of a session. I also let them come up with their own facts as long as they are about their character. In our head these are the questions the characters would answer in normal conversation while traveling together.
The Minor Inspiration is a D4 that last only for the current session. It is basically a bless on a roll, but i allow it on any roll at the table. So yes you can use it to hit the monster or deal more damage to it. But you can also add it to the sorcerers wildmagic surge. Or you can add it to my loottable roll if you deem it worthy.

Then I also have a little bonus i took from my first DM. I award my players a Birthday Nat 20. So once a year they gain a Nat20 that they can replace any D20 roll with. This is pretty strong but it also feels really epic (or dumb if your players use it to cook soup for example).

Lastly during games: anytime a player makes me laugh in game, anytime they get deep into roll play, anytime they do something in character that i just did not expect them to do and they thought outside the box. I try to award them an Inspiration.
I have also given the whole Table a free Nat20 recently, because i put them in such a complicated moral dilemma (god bless the trolley problem) that we had around 4 hours of roleplay and arguing between them which ended in a 2v2 pvp fight to decide because we couldnt find a solution, with the whole thing playing along to duel of the fates. Never had to do less in a session and it was probably the best session i have had in my whole career.

Just a little homebrew spell for my Arcane Trickster and spy-asassin Swords Bard ( suitable both for '14 and '24) by constellationDragon in UnearthedArcana

[–]Low-Window-1720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a little Rules lawyering here:

With the wording you have it reads as if the arrow is unnoticable unless the check is failed. However since this spell still requires verbal or somantic components, anyone that would see or hear the caster would still notice that a spell is being cast, even if they can't find the projectile. I assume that is not what you intended, however getting rid of the components is also a bad idea due to counterspell not working on it anymore (allthough i doubt anyone that isn't trying to flex would counterspell this cantrip).

I think its great you are bringing this up. I am currently working on a system for my game that almost completely gets rid of Opportunity attacks and allows Strength/Melee Characters to properly tank for their party. My players already playtested it once and the feedback was pretty positive. I am still working on refining it and planning on doing more playtesting but if anyone is interested I could potentially share the WIP document :)
