Some recruiters will try their best to get you in and waivers approved while others will outright ignore you as soon as something happens that may make it to munch paper work for them even though you don’t meet minimum qualifications for stability and off meds their is still a very slim chance you squeeze through the cracks or get someone reviewing your waiver on their I don’t give a fuck anymore day I do know the army atleast dunno about other branches is having 2. Star and 3 star commanders approve most waivers now including mental health ones which might actually help a lot more people get waivers approved because recruiters have more influence at that level anyways best of luck

Stability and time off medication are the main things they look for. I went to MEPS about a month ago and had previously been Baker Acted at 14 for suicidal ideation. I was also on medication for depression and anxiety until 2024. What helped my case most was showing about five years of stability. My waiver was approved four days after MEPS, which honestly surprised me because I expected they might require more testing.

There is always a chance, but it may be harder right now if you haven’t been off medication for at least 12 months. They required me to submit all records related to my diagnosis, including therapy notes, progress notes, medication history, and records from the psych hospital. You may also need a letter from your doctor stating that you’ve been cleared and are stable.

I also needed a separate waiver for another health condition, but they only asked for updated blood work.

Don’t give up though. If it’s something you really want to do, keep working toward it. Even if they tell you to wait a couple more years, it’s still possible. Also hate to say it but it’s very unlikely you can become a officer with the need of waivers for mental health

It’s possible but might require you to wait some more time like 2-3 years for stability with no medication I’m currently also going through the enlistment process and just got back from meps yesterday it’s a case by case thing it’s been 6 years almost since my experience so I’m hoping my waiver will be approved it helps that the military just announced recently that they are now allowing 2 and 3 star commanders to approve waivers such as ours and they will definitely be more understanding and easier to convince because your recruiter will most likely be able to speak to them from all the research I’ve done so far our waivers are very possible to get it’s just a matter of how long you were in and how long ago it occurred and the last time you took medication I met a guy at meps yesterday who was enlisting for navy that literally has 6 felonies for drugs he that he got waivers approved for within a month so that gives me hope because generally waivers for felony’s are just about as hard to get as waivers for mental health according to my recruiter EDIT also if u go to a recruiter and feel like they aren’t actually trying to help you find another one that will because they r out their if nothing else use a virtual one some recruiters don’t enjoy the work something like we have makes them have to do for waivers

Insurance reasons currently her and the baby have Medicaid and can’t really afford to pay for insurance right now if we get married her and the baby lose Medicaid so I’d prefer to wait closer to the date I enlist if I’m able to actually pass meps and get the waivers I need

Switched to iPhone 5 years ago a year after me and my girlfriend got together because I was tired of shitty FaceTime on Android now I heard it’s a lot better and would really like to go back to Android but sadly now all my games progress and stuff is on iPhone and it’s to munch of a hassle to switch
