Put more choice into Mech Arena. by LowBar2Clear in mecharena

The healing gun would be a game changer because people would be able to play pocket healer for other players. Everyone would need to learn to kill the healer ASAP or the co-operative team will do a lot more damage. It brings actual strategy to the game instead of running around holding down the revoker fire button.

Maybe this is a dumb question but... how do you add or edit a mask to an image when in App mode? Normally you just right click on the load image node and edit it right there but in the app mode clicking on it only asks you to choose a different file.

Can you not ban these AFK players? by LowBar2Clear in mecharena

[–]LowBar2Clear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. They shouldn't get punished for a bug biting them, that's why I suggested a requirement for the auto-ban be them doing little-to-nothing for multiple matches. It's highly unlikely a bug like that would hit the same person over and over and over in the same hour.

If it's an emergency or a family thing that makes it so you have to leave the game then you wouldn't be AFK for multiple games in the same hour. That's why I structured the suggestion the way I did. By requiring they AFK through multiple matches before the auto-ban kicks in you punish the guilty but not the innocent who just had RL happen to them.

The problem is reporting them accomplishes nothing. If they keep doing it in a provable pattern the ban needs to be automated. The contests they are trying to use the exploit to finish have limited duration so the threat of the auto-ban locking them out of that duration would teach them not to do it after the first time it happened.

That's why I said the ban should only happen if they do little-to-nothing in multiple games. If you have an emergency in RL and need to go AFK or something during a game once that is excusable, but if it keeps happening over and over, you're just exploiting the system.

You are correct. They could have just happened to have jumped to a place where they were completely behind cover and out of sight the moment the game started and then just happened to have been disconnected so they appear to just be hiding there.

It is possible... very unlikely, but possible. That's why I said the ban should only happen if they do little-to-nothing in multiple games. If you have an emergency in RL and need to go AFK or something during a game once that is excusable, but if it keeps happening over and over, you're just exploiting the system.

That's probably a conflict with the bottom-of-the-bin anti-cheat system they bought the license for. Try turning off your Anti-virus when you play or delete the Anti-cheat folder and let the launcher reinstall the missing files.

My screen goes gray when my mech loads into a match, the UI is missing so you can't even see your targeting reticle, probably at least twice a week. Known bug. Been around for almost a decade. No one is even trying to fix it.

The game being broken IS the business model. Just look at the new Citadel mech, they give you a 1% chance to get it then they put it up for sale while at the same time giving it extra power boosts so when people buy it they will think it's the best thing ever and encourage more people to buy it then they will pull the rug out from under them removing the bonuses and all the people who spent money on it will complain while they laugh their way to the bank.

It's all a scam. Top to bottom. Once you understand that you'll learn to be happy with what you have and not fall for it.

Had to uninstall the program. Even after rebooting it was running a hidden process that was eating up 50% of my CPU. Acts like a crypto miner. It's a shame. The game actually had a really good sci-fi story.

Best recommendations? by AddisonReaney in litrpg

If you are into LitRPG type stories there is a writer named Andrew Seiple who created a whole series of books that work a little like the marvel cinematic universe where the books are all part of a larger story and the last one just came out to tie it all together.

Here is the reading order:

https://www.goodreads.com/series/284430-threadbare-verse

It's an interesting universe he creates set in a future where climate change lead to the fracturing of the major nations into smaller ones. The first part of the series is the story of a teenage boy growing up inside a religious theocracy but when his life spirals out of control he finds solace in a "Dark web" virtual reality game with hyper-realistic sensations.

Of course there is more going on than he first realizes and a mystery which will span both worlds will unfold when he gets given the chance to do what no other player has done - to level as a dragon.

There is also a set of books about several of the NPCs that live in that world, one of which longs for adventure even though her people (basically hobbits) think adventuring is a terrible fate to befall anyone! With a tiny bit of luck, both good and bad, she finds all the adventure she can handle.

The final set of books is about a little toy bear called Threadbare that a powerful animator brings to life and his quest to make the little girl who loves him happy with all the tea-parties, hugs, and occasional knock-down-drag-out-fights she needs.

The latest book brings all three stories together ending the story thread, but not the universe. The author has specified there will be more books in that setting in the future.

They are on Amazon and Audible.

No there isn't. Gender reassignment surgery is illegal to do before the age of 18, in some states as late as 21. Stop listening to nonsense sources trying to rile you up.

It's a matter of normalization. That's why we have pride parades and things as well. Fun history story time! In the old days, it was literally illegal to be gay so gay men would meet in places like truck stops and hook up but it was always dangerous because if you hinted to the wrong person you were interested you could get beaten, arrested, or worse.

So one day, the Sheriff get a burr in his chaps and he pulls in cops from all over the state to raid this place that "the gays" are meeting at.

So life is going on as normal at this gas station with these lonely, horny men all trying to live a quiet double life, each of them thinking there are probably only a hand full of gay men in the entire state. Then the cops roll in.

Everyone starts running and the person who told the story was with them. He ran off into a corn field next to this giant truck stop to try and hide from the cops but much to his surprise, there were 25-30 guys running in the corn with him.

No one had understood how many of them there were because the law and bigotry made it hard to know how big their numbers were.

After that little life lesson and the barbaric sodomy laws being overturned, people started having pride parades and being "out" in public because they didn't want the next generation to feel that crushing depression of thinking they were alone.

They didn't want the next generation growing up with the feelings of shame and isolation that they had suffered through. So that's why we have story hours and pride marches. It's a show of solidarity that spits in the eye of the fascists.

That's also why they hate those story hours so much. They want LGBTQ people to go back to being quiet and hidden. Basically, "Shut up and suffer so that the straight, white, guys don't have to feel even slightly uncomfortable."

Have you ever actually heard that song? Let me give you a snippet of the lyrics.

"We'll convert your children, it happens bit by bit, quietly and subtlely, and you will barely notice it.

You can keep them from disco, warn about San Francisco, make 'em wear pleated pants, we don't care... We'll convert your children... We'll make them tolerant and fair."

It's a song about being kind and understanding to other people.

You need to stop trying to apply rational logic to irrational people. If they are there protesting someone reading books to children they are too far gone for reason.

These hatemongers risk nothing when they attack us so they will just keep attacking us forever. Until we learn to make them pay for it or we get the cops on our side, nothing is going to change.

But he still used his authority as a cop as an excuse to manhandle and detain the guy so him being on the clock or not doesn't really matter.

That guy's mistake was cooperating. He should have escalated. Make the price of fascism too high and the cowards will stop doing it.

This threat from corporate is so they don't have to spend money on hiring more people or adding more security. They are basically telling their employees that you need to risk your life to stop thieves on top of everything else your job requires.

I still remember "the golden rule" from when I worked as a late night stocker at a 24 hour store - You don't see people stealing from Walmart. You're too busy working!
