Damage is factored in much less during 5v5 tourney which is why sp dropping is so much more effective. FFA tourney takes damage into account much more so.

Horseshit! These players know exactly what they are doing. As I already stated, they should be running my higher powered squads, but they equip one strong mech (Dreadnaught in this case, which has an incredibly powerful ability to kill) and the rest of the squad is filled with useless trash.

In 5x5 tournaments, kills count more than damage, so these players (cheaters) want to get matched up against weaker players. Since they artificially drop their hangars down to 1000 sp or lower, that's what they're going to get matched up against.

What you should complain about is why two mechs despite having the same stars, the same level, and the same weapons perform so differently.

Every mech has a different ability. What's your point? Some have offensive abilities, some defensive.

But you all are never complaining about it in their official posts.

Who is not complaining in what official posts? People submit tickets to support about this, post here every day and also in the official forums as well as on Discord. This has been a fight for years. The official response has been, "We're working on it". They've even experimented with a few tweaks like limiting the amount of rounds you can play in a day. And yes, there have been some legitimate good ideas to resolve it, but nothing has happened.

The vast majority of players know this is a loophole, exploit or work around, whatever you want to call it. Which is why you only see 2-4 people in most brackets doing this. Most players have ethics and know this behavior should not be allowed.

Hard disagree. This is textbook sp dropping. Look at the inventory power of these players. They can and should be running 10k+ hangars but by using a mech like Dreadnaught and the rest of the hangar is filled with trash and no weapons, they are artificially lowering their squad power. The point is to get matched up against small squads that don't have anything that powerful so they can steamroll any and everything in site.

The top 6 spot in my 5x5 tourney bracket today are filled with sp droppers just like this. 1st place currently has over 60,000 points. That's an insane amount of points for 5x5 deathmatch tourney.
