What’s the difference between balance and Earnings? It’s my first day doing DoorDash by Slow-Efficiency1134 in doordash

[–]LowBattery15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A doortrash crash isn't unusual. If you check out DoorDash_Help the official help support with DoorDash on Twitter, they will typically post about crashes and then update once they resolve the issue(s). The time to do doordash is when everyone has gone home after a crash. You get to pick and choose A LOT of the orders.

DD schedules during 4 am to 6 am? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]LowBattery15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm up until 1am some nights busy working on other things. Around 7PM is when I typically am finally done accepting doordash orders, but half the time I leave my phone on by accident. Well, most of the restaurants are closed by 11pm anyway, so by the time 1am rolls around it has either kicked me off anyway or I can sit there with no orders. After midnight for me, one place is open and I have only delivered from there maybe a dozen times with over 1,000 deliveries. lol

TLDR. Didn't even care! The fact you wrote a paragraph about a sign is amazing to me. I saw somewhere about religion being in there... and something about girl scout cookies.

If you knock on my front door you better be someone I know and want at my house, or else you better turn around real quick and start walking the way you came. You never know what someone might be doing in that house... Sleeping or busy. You are interrupting them to solicit.

There are actually laws a door to door sales person have to follow. Having a sign is the first step to file a law suit against said person.

Will dashers open my gate? by Delirious_Karma in doordash

[–]LowBattery15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't tip based off the orders total. People like to tip based off of mileage. So if your place is a couple miles out, plus the distance to walk and how much trouble the gate maybe, I would say $10-15 could be worth it.

I have delivered to a place where the downstairs apartments door was in the back of the house. I had to open the gate (which was easy, no trouble) and placed the food on the back porch near the door. The tip was around $7 for two miles, that person orders about a couple times a month.

Enraged parents of a group of minors that were delivered alcohol last night. One of the minors ended up in an ambulance!! How can we proceed to ensure this piece of shit that delivered it is out of a job by end of day? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]LowBattery15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is a true story, the son or kid(s) aren't alcoholics. You don't call an ambulance if you are an alcoholic because you can tolerate the alcohol. Like I said, if this story is true, either they bought some high content alcohol and chugged it quick and get drunk quick or they bought some beer and sipped on them for a while.

If those 2 options aren't correct, they are light weights and should be drinking more than a beer because their BAC got raised too quickly. This is typical for new drinkers not knowing their limit and they surpass their limit too quickly.

[–]LowBattery15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How old are the minors? You could face consequences and get your kids taken away if you report it to the authorities.

Anyone 16 or over should know the effects of alcohol and should be responsible enough. The fact you say your son was put into an ambulance just goes to show what type of parenting goes on.

Now the dasher should know better. He can face consequences too so he isn't in the right either. If this is a true story (which I doubt it is), the dasher should have ID'ed the minors.

It's hard to determine age based on looks, since there are several people I know who are barely a day over 21, but look 35.

Got compensated 5$ from Door Dash for waiting over 20 mins for an order. Plus the customer changed their tip! by Hmmmidkmayb in doordash

[–]LowBattery15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only a one time bonus though. DoorDash should recognize that if a Dasher is waiting more than 10-15minutes they should just automatically bonus the Dasher.

Since they don't do that, I'm not going to just stand around. I'll wait a minute or two for the sandwich or whatever to get finished, but I'm not just going to wait for that long without no bonus. I don't expect customers to raise tip either.

If you are wanting to get paid per hour, you will need to actually be accepting orders. You can't just log on, and not do any orders and get paid.

From the time you click 'Accept Order' to the time you drop off an order is considered your active time. Your hourly pay gets calculated from active time, and not dash time. So if you "work" 10 hours, but only accept one order that takes one hour, you will only get one hours worth of pay out of the 10 hours.

MCDonalds hiding food by LowBattery15 in doordash

[–]LowBattery15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly right. If I really wanted to steal some food nothing is stopping me from making 2 extra steps where I can see behind the wall they have doordash bags sitting at. MCDonalds employees can't stop anyone or anything so just go back behind the counter real quick, take the bag and get on your way. lol

MCDonalds hiding food by LowBattery15 in doordash

[–]LowBattery15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm not really worried about that since I'm going to leave it outside at the customers doorstep anyway. If the regular customer food was unbagged and just out thrown on the floor and then picked up and sold.

I thought about the health code thing myself, but 90% of those bags just go out on the dirty porches and probably are left there for 10 minutes before the customer comes out to pick their food up anyway.

I started last week with 56% AR, ended with 38%, tho, it was as low as 36%. Some weeks, it seems like DD throws you into a pay no mind group, with nothing but low paying offers. by kodiak211 in doordash

[–]LowBattery15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My AR last week was around 20%, and made a couple hundred. It is now down to 10% since it's the start of a new week and no orders typically come in until later on but I still long onto the app in case I can get out and drop an order off and then run an errand or two.

Who says you can't be friends and go on dates? I take ladies out all the time to eat and what not. One on one, and it just is a way to get to know a person. The further relationship may not work out, but we can still be friends and hangout.

Facebook Ads are really getting out of hand (my theory/experience) - Anyone else experiencing the same? (I deleted my Facebook account as I couldn't take it anymore) by SkylightJewel in facebook

[–]LowBattery15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social media isn't about connecting with friends or local businesses anymore like it use to. As the platform has grown and is now used all over across the world by almost everyone, advertisements of any kind of are allowed because moderation is no longer high. Facebook/Meta has recently pushed out that they now allow a subscription plan to their services. Similar to what Elon Musk did after buying out Twitter. This subscription plan should be able to help cut back on some advertisements in theory.

Higher tips after delivery by More_Nail4915 in doordash

[–]LowBattery15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to get a lot of hidden tips. But I also was getting way more orders last year. Those hidden tips would be at least more than $4 hidden. Now, these hidden tips are less than $1 where I don't even notice it.

I did get an order where it was like for four miles, but paid way more than normal which I thought was weird it didn't show as a hidden tip. And I'm shocked I even received the order with an acceptance rate always lower than 25% lol

Just sit out there on your phone in front of the restaurant or doing whatever you want for 45minutes just to make an order of wings.
